Is it possible to transfer a NJ marriage certificate to be a NYC one?

My fiance and I are both New Yorkers but we are having our ceremony in NJ.

My fiance really wants our marriage certificate to be from NYC because it's where we live and the place we are from, as opposed to a NJ certificate which is a place we don't have much of a connection to, aside from having our ceremony there.

Do you know if it's possible to "transfer" a NJ certificate to a NYC one?

TIA!

If he wants a NY marriage certificate then you need to get married in NY, that's it. If you are getting married in NJ then you have to get a marriage license/certificate in NJ. They don't "transfer". And no one besides your officiant and, if one/both of you are changing your name[s], the DMV/SSA will really ever see your marriage certificate, so who cares where it's from?

You can get a marriage license in any county in NY and use it in any county in NY, but nowhere else.
