@labro - Yup, except I was a reluctant Hermoine during class...I was hoping others would contribute but it was like pulling teeth and I felt bad for the instructor.  I have a feeling I'll learn a bit though, especially about pain management and positions....when I was with my sister during her deliveries she stayed flat on her back the entire time and I don't think that was helpful for her.  I'm taking this 6 week childbirth class, an infant CPR class and a breastfeeding class (all with H).  

@southernpeach89 - Oooooh, I hope they teach massage in the class...I would like that during labor.  Or now...H can practice.   

@lizzytish88 - The cupcakes make me drool daily.  I'm eating one tonight too.

@beachyone15 - I'm working up until I go into labor unfortunately to save up my time with Ani.  I have a feeling work won't slow down at all either until the week before my due date or so....I'm getting assignments like crazy BECAUSE I'm going on leave.  Don't get me started on that logic since my leave is only paid for a month and its my personal vacation time/FMLA unpaid time.

@untouchablets adorable! I was never a dog person before but now every time I see one like in their yard or on a walk I'm like aaaaaaaaw I just want to run over and hug them haha.

@minskat30 yea the customer from Germany is also here (with UK man) and he asked me how long before the baby I will be leaving work. I was like um the day before? He said oh, ours is 6 weeks before. I'm like great thanks for rubbing that in!

Re the bathroom - I really hope we aren't all cursed with bad bathroom experiences. I need to call the contractor today. It appears that they laid down plywood in our bathroom, and then this chicken wire type of rebar, and then they literally poured concrete all over that....Ugh. So I need to see what he wants us to do in order to prep or if he'll handle it. We had kind of expected there to be water resistant flooring in there...which concrete definitely is, but we were NOT expecting poured concrete, especially since our master bath is on the second level and not on a slab.

@jenna8984 - We looked at the Simmons Beautyrest ones and really liked them! That was actually our second choice. The one we are going with is a Stearns and Foster. H is pickier than me so I let him choose. At this point, anything will be better than our current, lumpy mattress!

@southernpeach89 - I heard the same thing.  I *think* it is an old wive's tale though.  I hate foot massages though (or anyone touching my feet) so H knows to stay far, far away from my feet unless he wants to get kicked...lol.  He can massage my back, shoulders, arms and head any day of the week though.  

@labro - I hope you don't get cursed either.  I have no idea what to do with a concrete poured floor on the second level, I'm sorry.  We had one but we have a ranch house and the basement isn't fully finished where the bathroom remodel was done so we tore the damn floor up with a jack hammer and reinforced the floor from the basement level after all was said and done.

@jenna8984 - Yeah, H's brother (in India) asked me when I plan to stop working before Ani's arrival.  He really doesn't get the concept of needing to work ALL the way up to labor.  Even India has better mat leave policies than the U.S.

@Twodimes - I'm glad I only took 3 cupcakes home because my calorie intake is likely through the roof with my nightly cupcake devouring.  Entirely worth it though.  As to those trendy grocery stores, I gave up on them a while ago...I'm not paying $10 for cheese at the rate I consume it.

@labro - I second @jenna8984. You get more done on a Monday night than I do on most weekends. I never fully unpacked my closet when we moved in November and now I don't see a point because we are moving out July 9. I should have taken some of your motivation and unpacked months ago.

Also @jenna8984 - Dying over your mailbox story.

I lurked on yesterday's thread and loved all the Chicago pics!!! You guys are all gorgeous and looks like you had a blast! Also love the surprise shower for @minskat30! So thoughtful.

Tomorrow H has a phone interview for a new job (vibes please!). He doesn't have a ton of interview experience so I keep telling him that regardless of what happens it's always good to get more practice with that. Plus he already has a job so it's not like he needs this, but it would be excellent if he got it.

Thursday is our Green Card interview and I am SO EXCITED and also SO NERVOUS. We have been quizzing each other a lot on the most random things. I can't remember if I posted this but our lawyer told us they ask very mundane things such as how many lights are in your bedroom? What sort of furniture is in your bedroom? How much is your water bill? So now we are trying to memorize every square inch of our apartment and our bill amounts (I know these because I pay the bills each month but H has to learn them). We also have a massive binder of all our documents, financials, etc. I  swear this binder could be called How o Steal My Identity. It has birth certs, SS cards, passports, W2s, bank and credit  card statements, 401K and life insurance docs, cell phone records, etc. It's crazy!

@twodimes - Garlic lovers hummus is amazing! There is one grocery store near me that carries a balsamic and caramelized onion hummus that is HEAVEN! I can't buy it because I will eat the whole thing in 1 sitting.

Thanks for all the vibes! I also forgot to mention that our lawyer told us on Thursday that we cannot file our own taxes as we had planned, so now we had to be those assholes that called a tax preparer a week before the deadline to ask if he can help us. I feel awful and I'm pretty sure the guy hates us!

@southernpeach89 & @minskat30 there are pressure points in your feet and I think back, that if pressed can induce labor.  That's why during certain points during pregnancy you can't get massages.  I offered to take my sister for a pedicure since her due date is next week.

@labro fingers crossed the sub-floor concrete isn't an issue.  I'm honestly not surprised by house stories anymore.  It's amazing the things people think are ok to do during a remodel.

@twodimes way to be the smelly girl haha, but yeah total worth it for hummus.  What kind of mozzarella was it?  We tried this Armanian one that I'm now obsessed with.

@minskat30 I'm glad the cupcakes still taste good! I was dreaming about the brownies last night.

I went home last night and should have went straight to bed, but I had a burst of energy and ended up being wide awake until 10ish.  So I sat on the couch and watched movies with my bf.  

I need to go food shopping tonight. We have no meat or fruit left, apparently that's what we eat most because we're loaded up on starches and vegetables haha.  I need to figure out what I'm making Thursday, because apparently my bf's parents invited themselves over for dinner.  His mom's hair stylist is across the street and she has a hair appointment Thursday.  I may have dramatically rolled my eyes when he said that.   At least the house is clean. 

In other news Emmy's due date is one week!!!! I can't wait to snuggle that little ginger!!!!

@speakeasy14 Ah yes that makes sense. I knew I heard it somewhere. I got a massage and a pedicure at 37 weeks. They obviously did nothing but hey maybe it works for others.

@southernpeach89 - I do things like that all the time.  Like yesterday when I tried to unlock my office door with my clicker for the car...

@CocoBellaF - I find your baking skills amazing.

Not much going on here today.  It's a class day, but I'm mostly showing documentaries (just how it worked out), so I'll be doing other things while they watch movies.  I managed to do a really good job on my to-do list yesterday so I'm feeling pretty good.  The depression has gotten a little better as well.  I always have good days and bad days, so I'll settle for a few good days and a few less bad days.

After work I'm going to go for a run at my favorite park and then head home.  I need to unload the dishwasher and a few other things but mostly I'm planning on reading for a bit and going to bed early.

My book says if you massage a certain point like that spot under the ankle, just to the side of the Achilles tendon. But who knows, could be wives tale!

Matt loves garlic and hummus so when we do pick some up, we get 2 lmao


Not much last night. Matt's getting a cold so he slept a lot, while I organized stuff which caused an arguement. It was completely unnecessary and yet at the same time clearly needed. A lot of it was communication issue, so it's resolved.
Stuff to work on both parts.

While Matt napped, one of my bffs did a live video on fb of her doing her hubby's makeup, complete with wig! It was hilarious because he actually looked pretty good! I was laughing too hard, it hurt and I was crying. Meanwhile my mum is watching and texting me. We're both laughing at it.

If it was on youtube, I would link you ladies because it's worth it. I'll see if she'll post it on her youtube XD

@minskat30 Glad you got to go to your class, even if you had to play Hermione. Maternity/parental leave in the US is a complete joke. For a culture that wants everyone to pop out babies we sure don't take care of those who have the babies.

I'm having a strange episode of vertigo right now, and I have no idea why. I feel like gravity is sideways. wtf!

Anyway, I began a work audit yesterday and managed to get a lot done, mostly because after working on-site I took some work to a brewery and had beers/food and finished some work there. For some reason I get insanely focused if I do work while having a drink. Plus the beer was delicious. 

I had a really hard time falling asleep last night. For one, one half of the hotel bed feels really hard and lumpy, so it took me rolling all over the place to find a good spot. Two, the clock in the room has a SUPER BRIGHT snooze bar, I really can't understand why someone thought it would be a great idea to stick a bright light on top of a clock you keep next to the bed. I eventually just unplugged the dang clock. I had some really weird dreams so my sleep wasn't very good quality. 

I'll be in and out this week since I have a lot to do for this audit, but at least I can build in my own breaks!

@TwoDimes yes, first blood niece (omg that sounds so bad, maybe I'm just scarred from this weekend haha).  I'm the oldest out of my siblings, so the others are still fairly young.  This is the middle sister's baby.

@wink0erin - I regularly drink while I grade, and I wrote my entire dissertation with a glass of wine and my hookah next to me.  Cheers to getting work done while enjoying an adult beverage!
