Morning! Where is everyone today? I'm surprised there's not already a thread although I'm sure by the time I'm done typing this, someone else will have posted  

I'm in a great mood again today! 

I just ordered H's anniversary gift! The traditional gift for the third anniversary is leather so we agreed to get each other SHOES. He asked for a pair of Doc Martens boots and I asked for a pair of Tieks flats  I can barely comprehend that in one week we'll be married for three years. INSANITY. 

So, I have a little news which a lot of you already know (I spilled the beans in Chicago) but my H and I decided that I'm going off birth control and we're going to see what happens. My appointment to remove my IUD is TONIGHT at 6:30. I'm nervous and excited and scared and anxious and impatient and literally every single possible emotion ever. We made this decision a while ago and I can't believe the day is finally here. 

After my appointment, we'll grab dinner somewhere then watch Survivor with a lot of beer, please and thank you.

Morning everyone!

Holy moly @Swazzle, so much good news in one post! Sending good vibes with your "see what happens" quest! Shoes is a great "leather gift".. What a cute idea. H and I are a month away from our 1st anniversary. What did you guys do for paper? We've talked about doing the traditional gifts but that's a tough one!

Last night I had to stay late at work, so H and I made a lazy pasta dinner and then I watch GoT because I hadn't had a chance to yet. Tonight I have to run 5 miles and then pack for the weekend - H and I are leaving for NJ after work tomorrow. We'll spend the night at his parents and then on Saturday I'm going to meet my best friend in the city and we're taking the train up to our college for our Rugby Alumni weekend! It should be a blast and will be fun to see everyone. I'm not playing because my half marathon is a week later, but beers will be had on the sideline!

@Swazzle EEEEKKKKK! I seriously cannot contain my excitement for you! Good luck with your appt this evening.

I did a lot of ab workouts last night and I'm sore today and I did some free weights and smashed my hand with one of them. It hurt like crazy but luckily it didn't swell up. 

DH is working tonight so no plans really for me. We lowered Callie's crib yesterday and she HATES it. She wants the ability to be able to sit and see over the edge but that's a big no no because before we know it she will be trying to get over that edge. She is just going to have to get used to it. I told her this is what happens when we are trying to pull ourselves up on everything. 

I'm in an iffy mood today which kind of carried on from yesterday. I don't know if it's just me being sensitive but little things are getting to me and if I snap or seem bitchy...sorry in advance. I wish I could blame it on my period or something but I'm just in a bad mood. I think I need a vacation.

@PamBeesly524 For paper, I think it's fun to do tickets to an event of some sort...that's what DH and I did. I got him tickets to his favorite NFL team and he bought me tickets to go see Dirty Dancing at the FOX.

Last night I got home and let the pups out. Tessie is not in a crate but Piper is. They were excited and I could tell Piper was just excited to be out of the crate since she had been in all day. Unfortunately they were so excited that they didn't calm down until about 9:30 last night. BF was stressed again so we got into a little tiff. He was saying that she should have went to the gym. I expressed that I would like to go to the gym since I didn't get to Saturday or Sunday since I got stuck home with the dogs then too. He knew I was peeved so he dropped it. Only two more nights....

We had turkey tacos for dinner last night and they were so yummy!!! Tonight I'm guessing will be more of the same.

I mailed my surprise yesterday! She should be getting it tomorrow I think!! 

Also, today is administrative assistant day, so the Supt bought us all watering cans that have lilies in them! We have to grow them, but it's super cute. We got a card as well. The card says it's from my boss, but this morning he goes " I won't take credit, Supt told us to do something." Like, thanks? Whatever I am just happy we got something and it's very nice.

@PamBeesly524 - Thank you! We went to Costa Rica for our first anniversary so we just said our plane tickets were our "paper gift" to each other. Last year we went to Savannah and Tybee Island aka The South so that was our "cotton gift" to each other (still a big thank you to either @labro or @southernpeach89 for that gem, I forget who came up with it!). I'm going to be nosy and ask where in NJ?! You'll have to come the next time we plan a g2g in the area.

@LizzyTish88 Aw that's a nice gift! I wish your boss came up with it on his own though lol. My boss gave me a Lilly Pulitzer note pad because she knows how obsessed I am with Lilly things.

@pambeesly524 We did a trip for our first married anniversary so we got each other cards (the SAME card) and our plane tickets were technically paper lol.

I'm finally getting a massage today and I can't wait- my entire body hurts and it sucks. Instead of waking up refreshed, I wake up achy all over.

I guess it was a weird sort of fate because I said this yesterday afternoon:

"aaaaaaaaw the top of my page has an advertisement for wedding invitations and the names on it are Evelyn & Joseph. That's my great nana who just turned 104 and her late husband!! Joseph is one of our narrowed down name options after him."

And then found out that she passed away yesterday. I am so glad I made it to her birthday party 2 weeks ago, and I know she's been praying for years to go be with her husband so I'm happy she's in peace!

@southernpeach89 - For the record, I originally typed/tagged Callie in this post instead of you. I cannot believe how big she's getting and how quickly! I hope to stay on your good side today  

@LizzyTish88 - Thank you! I hope the dogs calm down for you. Since it's been tough to get to the gym, what about taking them for a long walk each night after work so you're getting in a little activity and hopefully tiring them out? Two birds, one stone sort of thing. 

@TwoDimes - Free food is free food! I downloaded that book and I'll read it next! 

@PamBeesly524 - I don't know that area very well. Two of my good friends from college were from that area though and I've been up that way a couple times. Have fun this weekend! 

@jenna8984 - I'm so sorry for your loss but so glad you were able to celebrate her last birthday with her! That probably meant so much and was so special. Big hugs!

@Swazzle - I am FAN-GIRLING over your Tieks!!!!!  What color??  And congrats on the big IUD removal decision.  It took me a long time to decide to go off BCP.  It was a little exhilarating at first.  I suggest planning a fancy dinner this weekend with wine and dessert to celebrate, just because!

@southernpeach89 - Sucks about being in a bad mood.  I hope it passes soon.  It sounds like you could use a little break... you've had a lot going on the past few months.

@LizzyTish88 - Happy Admin Assistant day!  I bought a card and everything for our OA, but I had a barfy morning and was running late for work and left it on the counter.  UGH.  I'm the worst.

Like I just said, this morning has been "blech".  This whole week really, but that usually means that we're going through a growth spurt.  Probably in the next day or two I'll wake up and my belly will be bigger.

Last night we just laid around watching the severe weather.  I tried out my new birthing ball to see if it helped with the back and hip pain, so I guess that was the highlight of my evening.  Don't get jealous, y'all!  At some point I fell asleep and when I woke up it was 1 AM.  So I went back to sleep.

Tomorrow is our appointment, so we're all getting excited for that.  My parents are coming and they are crazy-excited.

@swazzle - First of all, I love the gifts.  Second of all, squeeeeee!  That is all.  I'm sorry but I'm so irrationally excited about news that isn't mine.

@southernpeach89 - Ha!  I can see you trying to rationalize with Callie in my head and I'm laughing out loud.  Sorry, this may be too personal too but do you mind me asking...when did you get your first period post-partum.  I know each person is different but I just realized from @swazzle's post that I need to think about post-partum BC.

@TwoDimes - I feel you, H was in a funk yesterday night too and I felt bad for him.  What was upsetting your H?  Mine was frustrated with where he is with his business he is doing on the side.  It isn't taking off like he hoped and I told him it takes time but he just wants it to happen like yesterday.

@lizzytish88 - Yeah for the flowers but I agree that my response to your boss's response would have been "uhhhh, ok, thanks"

Yesterday was fabulous in the afternoon.  I went to yoga with a co-worker/friend and couldn't do 90% of the moves but it was still nice to try and stretch.  Then we grabbed lunch.  After work, I came home to a CLEAN HOUSE!  We hired a cleaning service (it was part of a gift from my mom...and the best gift ever).  So nice to have a house I didn't have to clean.  I made supper, hung out with Raj, picked up something from a mom FB site I'm on (an unused travel bed for Ani's first trip likely in January that some couple was selling 90% off retail...and they gave me some free nursing pads they had left over just because I'm a first time mom)!!!  I also got the cutest lamp for Ani's room from my registry (the same friend I went to yoga with had it shipped and it was really nice of her).  Great day!  Wrapped it up with a nice soak in the tub.  

Full day at work today, then a doctor's appointment to check on Ani, then back to work.  H is staying late in Chicago today to hang out with some ex co-workers and drink so I'll head home after work, hang out with Raj and get ready for his surgery consult tomorrow afternooon.  He'll get lots of extra love from yours truly.

@cocobellaf - I'm glad you survived the storm!  Also, yeah for a birthing ball!  Is your plan to labor at home for a while?  I'm hoping to stay home for a bit when I go into labor but I have a feeling H will be all "we NEED to get to the hospital NOW".

Happy Administrative Assistant Day to everyone it applies to today! When I first started at my company I worked at the Front Desk so I got a box of chocolate covered fruit delivered to me, but with no name in the "From" section... It was super awkward because I didn't know who to thank! My boss at the time, who has the tact of... something that does have tact came up to me at the end of the day and said something really awkward about whether or not I liked the gift or something so I finally figured it out. I knew his boss made him order them though.

@TwoDimes - Ugh, that SUCKS.  The promotion is great but it always comes with golden handcuffs.  I hope they hire someone to help soon.

@minskat30 - I haven't thought about laboring at all because I don't know if I'll have to have an early scheduled C-section due to the placenta or not.  Ideally I'd like to labor at home for a while because I can eat snacks and move around and get in the shower, but I really haven't thought about it.  My birth plan consists of: give me meds, make sure all three of us (H, me, K) are alive.  The end.  Ha!  Does your H know that if you come in too early they'll send you home?

@CocoBellaF It really doesn't have much to do with what has happened this year even though this year has been a little rough around the edges. I'm just tired and therefore quick to snap haha. We have a lot of fun things happening over the summer so a break will be coming soon.

@minskat30 If you plan to breastfeed you won't get your first PP period for a good while. Callie was born September 28th and my first period arrived at the end of January. So almost 4 months after birth. I noticed that when my milk started decreasing was when I started spotting a little. My doctor told me to expect it to come around 3 months pp but I know some women who still haven't gotten theirs and they are 7 months pp...it's different for everyone I think.

@Swazzle I don't know if I could take them by myself, but I am going to ask BF if he will venture out with me and we can try it. Tess is an Alpha so it will be interesting to see how it goes.

@cocobellaf - Yeah, they warned us that if we come in too early they will send us home but we live like 7 minutes from the hospital so I just have this mental image of him saying we should go, us going, us coming back, him going "are you ready now?  what about now?  maybe now?" and rinse and repeat.  The man is late to EVERYTHING but will be super ready to go with this I feel.  I'm going to ask him to call ahead to see if we can get one of two rooms with a birthing tub (2 of the 9 rooms have tubs only).  If not, I want to hang out in my tub for a while at home.

@minskat30 and @CocoBellaF I freaking LOVED my birthing ball. I was pissed I didn't get to use it because my water broke and the hospital had me hooked up to all kinds of things but it helped me a lot prior to going into labor with pain management. AND also...laboring at home is definitely recommended from what I've heard because unless there is an emergency and/or your contractions are still slow your hospital might not admit you up until you get to a certain point. Mine was at least 3-5 minutes between contractions until you were admitted.

I will be taking Bradley classes just to be educated on what steps my body is going through but at the end of the day the doctors can do whatever they see fit!

@pambeesly524 Who is the comedian? Last fall we went to Comics come home with Leary, Romano, Louis CK, etc. I'd love to go back this fall since it's an annual show.

Ok, I just got the most funny version of my name ever in an email.  Obviously, those of you who know my name know it isn't easy so I cut people a lot of slack but it is also in my email address itself.  Some attorney sent me a response to an email I sent him yesterday starting out with "Hey Mugs, thanks for the reminder..." Mugs?! WTF dude.

Good morning. Last night I had planned on going for a walk, but I had to hang around and wait for the a/c guy. So tonight is definitely gym night. H took his car in this morning to get the hail damage inspected and they are considering it totaled. So now the insurance company will call us in a few days to tell us what it's worth. Not sure what we are going to do. It would be nice to have that money to pay off some debt, but it's still drive-able and we really don't want a car payment until it's absolutely necessary. Anyway, tonight we'll just be cooking and watching tv. Our neighborhood is having a garage sale this weekend so we may start getting things organized for that. Also, planning on mailing my NEY surprise on Saturday!!!

@swazzle - Wow, amazing news! I always thought you guys weren't necessarily interested in having kids, but I'm excited for you! Fingers crossed!
@southernpeach89 - It's ok. A vacation never hurts! I'm sure you are anxious to be done with work as well.
@LizzyTish88 - What a cute gift, but that's really odd that he said that!!

@jenna8984 - So sorry to hear that, but how amazing for her to live such a long life! My Nana was 98 when she passed away and it still didn't feel like we had enough time.

@jenna8984 We're going to see Brian Regan! I've been a huge fan since high school... He's a good, clean comedian. I like nasty jokes every now and then but sometimes I just want silly laughter. We got great front row balcony seats so I'm excited!

@beachyone15 - H and I have always been on the fence, generally leaning more towards no. I thought about things for a while on my own before mentioning anything to him and then we talked about it for a while together and came to the conclusion that we're happy with our life as is but we think we'd also be happy with a baby so we'll just see what happens!

Yesterday afternoon my mom asked if I'd pick up a cheesesteak for my step-grandmother since that was all she kept asking for. After work I stopped at the local sub shop and got her a cheesesteak.  She was so excited and said I'm her new favorite haha.  

When I got home my bf and I played Monopoly cards.  It's like monopoly but a card game and waaaay shorter.  I'm currently on a 3 game winning streak against my bf.  

I came into work to a box of specialty donuts and two bottles of wine (donuts from one of my coworkers and wine from my boss) for administrative professionals day.  I love this day, it's like birthday part two!

I have to buy Calla a dog bed on my way home from work.  Someone got into the garbage this morning and left all the evidence on her bed.
