Morning! I can't believe it's already Monday  

On Friday, I was MIA around here because we had a Seis de Mayo celebration at work and everyone brought in a dish (I made guac, obviously) and we had booze (I was bartender!) and it was a lot of fun. I met H for sushi after work and went to bed super early. 

On Saturday, I met my BFF for breakfast and we stopped at the flower shop her mom works at and THERE WERE KITTEN BABIES. My friend said she looked at me at one point and I had tears in my eyes lol. They were SO tiny I couldn't stand it. 



Since I wasn't allowed to bring home a kitten baby, I took myself shopping. Or as @GoldenPenguin put it: I was filling the empty space in my heart with clothes. I bought 2 dresses and a top with zebras on it from H&M, a maxi skirt and some basic tanks from Old Navy and a dress for Belmont from Marshall's:



When H got home from work, we headed down to Cape May to see my parents. My dad is doing so much better! He's finally able to walk on his own and his spirits are up which (I think) definitely helps with  healing. We hung around the house that night, watching hockey, and then yesterday morning we took my parents out to brunch (I'm wearing my new zebra top!): 



After breakfast, we went in an out of some antique shops and there was an animal outreach next door to one and I literally jumped out of the moving vehicle to get to it. There were about 30 cats inside and I was in my glory. 

We left in the afternoon and stopped to see MIL on the way home. I cleaned up the house and prepped beef stew for the week while H did some yard work. 

Pleeeeeeeeeeease let this week fly by! PLEASE!

@Swazzle ugh that kitten makes me melt... You got to see so many cats this weekend! So jealous. That dress looks fantastic on you and I'm so glad to hear that your dad is doing much better!


Morning all! I am NOT feeling Monday. Luckily the sun is finally out, I don't think I could handle another day of rain.

Friday after work I drove up to where our race was and got to have dinner with my mom. It was delicious and really nice to see her! My friend and I went to bed early and got up in the morning to RUN. The race went really well - it was cold and misting the whole time but I still managed to finish in 2:03 - a little bummed that I was so close to getting under 2 hours but still a huge improvement from the last half marathon I ran. I'm thinking of signing up for at least 1 more this year to try and stay in shape. 

My friend and I went home and ate all the food afterwards. Yesterday I was a total waste of space - I was sore and tired and I feel awful now that I wasted the entire day doing nothing. 

Our first Blue Apron box comes today so I guess we'll see how that goes tonight.

Part of me is "meh" that it's Monday (because, hello, MONDAY) but another part of me is excited because I haven't seen my chiro since Wednesday and HELLO APPOINTMENT today!!

Anyway, we stayed pretty busy this weekend.  I don't remember anything really exciting happening.  Mother's Day went pretty well yesterday.  Lunch was good, my mom and grandma liked their gifts, and I got a nap.  That's about as good as it gets!

9 weeks from today is Baby K's eviction date.  Oh yeah.

@Swazzle Ugh it was definitely a sign since you were surrounded by so many kitties this weekend that one needed to come home with you lol. I'm so glad to hear your Dad is feeling better, I hope that continues. AND I love the outfit you posted, it looks great!

@Pambeesly524 Congratulations! Completing a half marathon in itself is an accomplishment! I hope the next one you run will be your record breaker!

OMG I'm exhausted today lol. This weekend was so great but I felt like it was non stop.

Friday night DH, Callie and I went out to dinner with his Dad, Stepmom, and Brother to celebrate Mother's Day for his SM and bdays for his Dad and little Brother. It was a nice evening but Callie was very tired and only wanted me so I hardly got to eat dinner and his stepmom spent the whole dinner venting to me about everything so I was mentally and physically drained afterwards. They got us a selfie stick for Mother's Day. I've always kind of laughed at those things but I'm sure they come in handy if you want a group picture and don't want to ask people to take it for you.

Saturday DH had to work so Callie and I went to swim lessons. We had a new teacher this week and she was much less organized than the previous week so it was a little less enjoyable since we kind of had to do our own thing. Afterwards we went over to my parent's house to have a Mother's Day celebration for my Mom. @labro came over and we got our nails done and went antique shopping. Then I helped @labro bake a cake and I made a Derby themed dinner while we watched the race! The food turned out fantastic. It was a great night. My mom got me and Callie matching outfits for Mother's Day! I can't wait to wear it with her lol.

Sunday DH let me "sleep in" lol which means he got up and let Maddux out and fed him and fed Callie but in reality I still got up early...I just didn't have to do the morning duties lol. It was still nice though. He made us breakfast and then we went to church. Callie DOES NOT like the nursery there so we spent the service listening to the sermon in the lobby lol.

Afterwards DH and I dropped Callie off with my mom and we had brunch together. After that we spent the rest of the day relaxing and watching Outlander while I drank all the mimosas. DH made us dinner that night and it was steak, brussel sprouts, and baked potatoes. It was delicious!!!! I fell asleep watching GoT so I'll have to rewatch it tonight.

Today I need to get the oil changed in my car and then I'll probably workout. Tonight for dinner we are having baked chicken with carrots and potatoes. I'm looking forward to a quiet night.

@PamBeesly524 - Omg the red quinoa and black bean enchiladas are SO GOOD. That was one of mine and H's favorite recipes of all time from any of the meal delivery services and we've replicated it on our own a few times! I hope you love it.

Howdy! I'm feeling so much better today than I was last week so I am hoping that continues. Friday night we saw Civil War and I was just in heaven. 

Saturday we ran errands and I decided that I was going to make my mom something for Mother's Day because I was feeling crafty and I wanted to keep costs down. BF decided to do the same so we got supplies at Michaels and then headed home. I made my mom a Wreath for the front door and he made his mom a frame with "Mom" painted on it and we got a nice picture of them to put in it. Here is the wreath I made:


That night we went to my cousin's house and instead of going out to eat like we do every weekend, we got pizza and played monopoly! It took forever, but we had a good time. 

Yesterday we hung out around the house and watched more GoT. We went out to dinner with my parents, BF's mom, and his uncle and that was a nice time. 

The sun is out now, and it's supposed to be a decent week weather wise so I am looking forward to that! I have a ton of stuff to do this week around the house cause we were lazy at the house or out and about, but other than that, this should be a good week!!

Thanks everyone! @southenpeach89 My cousin just made some 4th ones that are adorable! She got burlap at Walmart, one is blue with stars, and the other is red striped. I loved them, but I bought one last year so Idk about buying the materials to make a new one. I do want to make one for our house now though so just have to decided what kind of theme I want.

My weekend was busy! Friday was BF's brother's birthday so after work I ran to get him a gift because I had no idea what to get him. At Old Navy they had a bunch of cool Marvel and Star Wars shirts so I got him a captain America shirt and one with the Star Wars logo, which was his favorite gift of the night, I might add . We are dinner at Benihana and had cake and it was lovely. Saturday I worked most of the day, nothing too special happened, BF and I had dinner and saw Civil War which was awesome. Sebastian Stan is such a hottie! 

Yesterday I worked open to close and held my first AKC test, the STAR puppy test for a French mastiff pup who is in one of my classes. She passed like I knew she would, and her owner cried. It wasnt that big of a deal but it was cute anyway lol. After that I raced to BF's house where we had BBQ for Mother's Day. 

Today I have to do some stuff around the house, hit the gym, and Coraline is going to the park for a play date because it's rained the last like ten days so she's got some pent up energy that needs to come out.

Good morning~
I just want to say I am NOT feeling it today. I said good morning to a co-worker and got literally no response. I mean, I'm not a morning person but I can still manage to not act like an asshole. Ok, rant over.

We had a great weekend. Friday I went out for dinner with my BFF. It was great to catch up with her. While we were at the restaurant, our waitress brought over two more drinks and said they were from "some guy" who said he was a secret admirer. We asked who but she said he already left. I told H about it when I got home and he said that it was him! He just stopped by to order us an extra drink. So sweet.

Saturday we spent the day test driving cars. H doesn't seem to be excited about anything really. He found one he kind of likes - a Nissan Murano, but isn't crazy about the look of it. But it drives really nice and is rated well according to Consumer Reports. And a 2010-2012 model is in our budget. So we'll see. We still have some time before we have to get back to our insurance company about his truck. We also managed to get the house cleaned up, which always feels so nice (once it's done!).

Sunday my mom and I went to a painting class for Mother's Day and made these ---


The rest of the day I just relaxed with H.
I'm hoping this week flies by so on Friday night I can be at the beach!!!

Typical Monday. I forgot my glasses so by end of day I'll have a headache

Not much Friday. I vacuumed after work.

Saturday we went to his grandparents place because his grandpa wanted a new computer and Matt's basically the best person to get to help. So we spend majority of the day there.
After we got home, Matt had made plans to see some friends so I texted my mum to see if she was going to be home. Luckily she was, so I hung out with her and made her sort through her clothes lmao Pack rat mother. She did get rid of stuff at least!

Sunday I took her for breakfast. We were going to wander around lots, but it was cold so we just headed to her place and made brownies and chatted.

Stopped by my granny's place on the way home and saw two of my uncles as well.


Tonight we're going thru stuff, we have a box of binders that is breaking so Matt has to sort thru that stuff. I have gift bags I wanna go thru to see if we really need all of them {I doubt it} and likely we're going to toss our Christmas tree once we can reach it.

My weekend was busy busy busy!!

On Friday night I painted the bathroom which took for freaking ever!!

Saturday I brought coffee from our favorite coffee house to my mom and @southernpeach89 and I took them both out to get their nails done for Mother's Day. @southernpeach89 had Callie with her and she was SO GOOD while we were shopping and at the salon. I feel like every week she changes to much and I'm so so thankful I get to see her so often so I don't miss out on all those little moments.

Afterwards, we all went back to my mom's house and @southernpeach89 helped me bake her a Mother's Day cake and then I had to rush home to help H with the bathroom. We painted all the trim and did all the painting touch up work, installed the new electrical boxes, installed the new lights, and got the toilet installed!!! I'm so glad to have two functioning toilets again so I don't have to wait while H spends a million years in the bathroom.

On Sunday I really wanted to go spend the whole day with my mom but we had too much to do. I washed and folded three loads of laundry, we finished laying the last bit of tile in the shower and we got it all grouted!! I have to wait until tomorrow to seal the grout but after that we will FINALLY have a use-able shower once H puts in the new shower handle and showerhead. After we cleaned up from grouting we went over to spend the rest of the day with my mom and the other Ho. I finished off the cake I started the day before and it came out so beautiful!!


Then H and I cooked shrimp and grits for my mom and it was so freaking delicious! I was stuffed afterwards.

After work I plan to go home and instruct H to do the following:
Finish installing the baseboards
Install the new towel hooks/rods/rings, and the new toilet paper holder

In the meantime I'm going to scrub and seal the existing grout in our guest bathroom. I cleaned it yesterday and I want to give it a second good scrub before sealing it so it doesn't get all stained again. Hopefully I'll also be able to spend time doing preliminary cleaning before @GoldenPenguin arrives on THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!!

@PamBeesly524 Congrats on being SO CLOSE to sub 2 hrs on your half marathon! That's amazing! I don't think I would've even been able to complete it just walking, it would definitely be an all day event lol.

Friday night I did some laundry, and H and I watched Jurassic World (was that Friday? It might have been a different night last week). 

Saturday I was non-stop all day. I got up early and went to the grocery store. I was home by 8:45a! Then I unpacked all that stuff, got snacks ready for the week, and did laundry. I took the dogs on a long walk, then went and me @eilis1228 and her H for lunch down in DC. It was delicious and I had a great time. 

When I got home, I did more laundry, and vaccumed and dusted the whole downstairs. Then I realized at 4:49p that I needed to pick up my race bib by 5p. Mad scramble but luckily they didn't close right at 5, so I was able to get it.

When I got home, I did more laundry (there was a LOT), and prepped the breakfast casserole for the next morning. Then I gave myself my first round of IVF stims. It was a debacle. I was watching videos and doing everything and then realized I was missing a certain size needle that I needed. So I was running around texting people and scouring everything that was sent until I just used a smaller syringe and stuck myself twice instead of once. It all worked out ok, but took about an hour from beginning to end.

After that, I just fell into bed! Yesterday I got up and started the race with my friends. The race went right by my street, so after I ran 4 miles, I walked home. With the cold I've had, I've been severely undereating all week (can't smell = no appetite). I've lost three pounds in one week, which is VERY uncharacteristic, so I knew I'd have no energy. It was a bummer, as it's the first race I've ever started but not finished. 

I showered when I got home and waited an hour to start the casserole. A few people showed up for mimosas and breakfast, so that was fun. Then I vaccumed and dusted the upstairs before H got home from his overnight trip to a DMB concert.

Not the most relaxing weekend, but it was fun, and I'm pretty sure in less than two weeks, I'm going to be PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise in the infertility world). AHHHH

So my friend just looked up our official race times - apparently 2:03 was my time from the time the gun went off until I finished... But my ACTUAL net time - from when I crossed the starting line to when I crossed the finish line, was 2:01:30.


I can't tell if I'm happier or more frustrated by that fact haha.

Ok, I'm going to take a break and post a little...I'm eating breakfast at the same time.    

Here are a handful of pictures from the baby shower this weekend...it was really nice.  All the pictures of me are on my mom's camera so I'll have to AW those later.  We got several last minute cancellations but about 20 family/friends came and I got to speak to everyone at length so it was the perfect size shower.  The food, man, my sister outdid herself making everything gluten free.  I'm still eating leftover gluten free cupcakes.    I spent yesterday organizing things.  I want to buy the rest of the baby stuff on my Amazon registry now that my shower is over but a family member told me they have to get something off there since the gift they ordered didn't come....I think that is super sweet and I'm appreciative but I don't know if that was a "I'm going to order something" as a way to be polite? I think I'll give it one more week and then order everything off there myself...is that reasonable?  I have 4 weeks to go and want to wrap up all the organization of stuff.



Sunday was nursery organization while H tried to fix our lawn mower (it is two years old and stopped working...think he is replacing the spark plug today to see if that helps).  H also gave me a massage for Mother's Day and he asked for step by step directions so he knew what to do for me when I'm in labor.  He did really good with the instructions!  

Tonight is birthing class after work.  Wednesday this week is a breast feeding class I'm attending and this upcoming weekend is infant CPR!  Yikes baby classes!

@minskat30 I'm drooling over those cupcakes! I'm glad the shower was a success and you had a lot of fun and received lots of wonderful gifts! I think you're definitely good...although TBH I'd order a bunch of stuff now, rather than wait. What if Ani shows up early? Anyway, if you end up with a duplicate gift you can always return it and buy something else.

@labro - Only thing I'm hesitating on is the fact that I have to order everything from the registry at one go...you get a 15% discount for being a Prime member on baby registry stuff but you only get to use it once.  And once everything is ordered from the registry, I don't want people to complain.  Maybe I'll look over everything and see if everything can wait until closer to the due date...I have the basics really at this point.  It is just a "I don't want to organize with a newborn" thing more than anything.  First world problems.   

@misskittydanger - It is a fruit (strawberry, raspberry), pudding (banana and chocolate) with whip cream and gluten free brownie concoction and I had some for breakfast yesterday and desert.    It is heavenly.
