Well as I was typing all of this up, Matt called and the mortgage specialist confirmed everything was approved. Which means that with just over 24hrs to go, all our conditions were done!

Since the previous owner is older {unwell and not in the city any more} and there are a couple simple tasks to be done, we lowered the price a bit. Matt's dad actually said he'd help him do the changes that he knows how to do. That makes me super happy cuz Matt doesn't get to see his dad often, so the fact he'll be able to see him AND teach him something  


Tonight is groceries and picking up boxes from my mum's work. I want to start packing soon since I know we're procrastinators slow lol

Good morning!! I am so happy to have a free period to just unwind and check in here. Things have been super hectic at school...only 14 days left!!!! I have a dodgeball tournament tonight and then early to bed because Fridays have been horrendous for about the last month or so. The kids can't play school for much longer...

This weekend will be hopefully very nice. I just want to relax and possibly do an outdoor activity since it will be warm. Sunday we are helping my uncle move some large furniture (he doesn't have a truck or and it's too expensive to hire movers) with H's truck. I'm hoping that the good deed will provide me with good karma for the upcoming week. I'm running a 5th/6th grade dance and I'm super nervous that none of the 5th graders will come. Hopefully it will be a success. I have lots of hopes and wishes for a smooth end of the year.

We're not that far away!! My BIL & SIL live just outside of Boston, so we visit pretty regularly! We'll have to plan something soon

@minskat30 I probably will look like that!!! If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball! Dip, dive, dodge. BUT the lamest thing is my school calls it "cannonball" instead of dodgeball...but it's the same game. Parents won't let kids play if it's dodgeball. Tonight's game will be a fundraiser and it's teachers vs. parents, so it will be interesting lol

@labro - (and every time I type your username I have to double check that I didn't tag @labor now...damn that Freud) Yeah for no more traffic soon!  You need a break too...anything fun going on this weekend?  I'm going to be spending all the money on pampering in the next few weeks.  I just recently went to the store too and bought a bunch of wine too so I'm stocked up when Ani gets here (obviously I won't go overboard but wine is like diapers and totally necessary in my post-pregnancy household).    The store clerk was judging me but I gave zero fucks.

@500days I feel SO BAD for all the teachers who have to keep working past Memorial Day. School should just be over...I don't know how people keep on keepin' on at that point.

@buddysmom80 I don't know you but I think that was a little out of left field and harsh. To me, you came off like @cocobellaf is doing something wrong during her pregnancy- she has no control over morning sickness, placenta location, early contractions, etc. I think she's handling it the best she (or anyone in that position) can. I consider myself very lucky to not have the "problems" she's had. Micro-preemies have a long NICU road ahead of them, so I don't think it's crazy that the doctor is trying any drugs she can to help delay that.

@minskat30 H and I are going to an annual lakehouse bbq that we're always invited to. It's like an hour and a half drive away but soooo worth it, plus we can bringing Cinders and she has SO MUCH fun jumping in and out of the water all day. Plus @southernpeach89 and Callie will be there! Otherwise we'll just hang out and enjoy our extra day off of work. I'll have a sympathy glass of wine (or two) for you. When you aren't KTFU anymore we definitely need to bring back KUI nights here!

@cu97tiger glad it wasn't a UTI, but hopefully the pain goes away soon! Especially if it feels anything like a UTI.
^^ II -- I know I should have said an UTI, but it just sounds awkward and awkward sounds irritate me haha

Last night we went out for dinner at a new distillery.  They were having bourbon and burger specials.  The drinks and food were good, but the place was really small.  It used to be a bank in the 1920s, and they kept the safes and vaults, but the layout missed the mark. It was initially remodeled to be a distillery and bar, the restaurant portion was added a few months ago.  There were only 25 people in the restaurant, yet it was cramped.  I can't imagine what it's like on the weekends.

After dinner we stopped by the casino and gambled for a little.  Ended up winning $30 on a penny slot, and then lost it all.  There was a new outlet attached onto the casino so I wanted to check it out.  It was so small, I decided I'd rather go to the actual outlets by my house. Since my bf was drunk he wanted to go into a chain jewelry store to mess around with the sales guys.  He walks in holding my hand and yells "We're here for engagement rings."  I couldn't hold back the laughter.  Two sales guys immediately walked us over to the case.  Then he felt bad and said, "I own a jewelry store, I'm just looking to compare."  

Tonight I'm visiting my sister for a little to get some Em snuggles and then having dinner with my bf's parents.  This weekend there will be lots of pool time, baby snuggles, and parties.

SO MUCH THIS to the bolded.  My family has already made a comment or two about how I can't drink (like at all) and breastfeed....of course, they didn't really breastfeed so rather easy to say IMO.  In one ear, out the other folks.  



My hospital gave us a breastfeeding pamphlet that said "keep it to two drinks two hours before the next feeding" for crying out loud.  

I hope you guys have a great time at the BBQ! Take lots of pictures and AW on Tuesday pretty please...especially Cinders/Callie pictures.

@speakeasy14 - I actually think you are correct with saying 'a' UTI. The way I learned it is that if the first sound is a consonant sound, then you use 'a'. So even though U is a vowel, it makes a YEW sound, so it's an a. (I thought about this a lot last night when I was texting some people and one person kept writing 'an UTI').

@jenna8984 - It's estradiol (estrogen). No idea why I need three a day but thankfully the nurse said I can take them orally from now on. WHEW.

I'm pretty sure @CocoBellaF is 100% capable of defending the things she chooses to say on this board.

@jenna8984 I don't know you either, but I know @cocobellaf and none of this is new. She's a typical hypochondriac and I'm sure before the days of google, she would handle everything a lot better, but this is just consistent with her. Everyone deals with morning sickness, placenta location, Braxton Hicks, etc and come out the other end fine. Some of this stuff she just takes to a whole new level.

Also if I recall correctly, she was on bed rest, yet has been moving around a lot more than she should, so there's that. 

I'm not going to play the pain/tragedy olympics or whatever, but I'm a high risk pregnancy too and I hardly complain. I also don't trust Dr. Google either, so there's that. If I have a question, I email my OB.

@minskat30 - My sister's doctor told her that the best time to drink wine is WHILE she is breastfeeding (edited: because it doesn't pass through to the milk immediately, or something like that...I am not a mama, I don't know these things).  It's fun to hang out with her while the baby has her last feeding.  :-) 

And yes, you and @Swazzle are very much correct: run away from ALL the Trump!!

Morning, everyone! I'm so out of it today. I keep staring at my emails and my computer willing my work to do itself. So far, no luck.

Yesterday was all kinds of interesting. My period came back very randomly yesterday after being MIA for 2 months. I'm just past the 6-month mark on the IUD, so I don't know what's going on. For now, it feels like a normal period, so I'll wait and see what happens. However, for my period to return out of the blue on Interview Day...well, Aunt Flo is a bitch.

So, the interview went well but was also very strange. I was simultaneously told that I'm overqualified and underqualified, and they continuously praised my talent and potential. It was very confusing. Essentially they think I'd be an asset to the team, but they think I'd be bored in that position. Conversely, they agreed that I don't have the experience needed for anything above that position. I told them that I didn't anticipate plateauing or getting bored in the near future, and I also brought up that their department is growing so quickly that should that situation occur, a new opportunity would surely present itself and I'd be able to evolve with them. They really liked that response (and every response I gave), but ultimately I think they went into the interview believing I was "too impressive" for the job. They were also fixated on my Master's degree, which was weird. Apparently I'll hear back in 2 weeks, but I know they won't extend an offer. 


Today I'm WFH and making good use of the heating pad due to heavy cramping (seriously, Aunt Flo, WHY?!), and then tonight I'm hanging out with @audrewuh. I am so ready for the weekend.

@CocobellaF I'd def talk to the doc, and then trust her from there. There are a lot of meds with scary warnings online, but sometimes you have to ignore those and trust that the doc has it right. There's usually a weighing of pros/cons when deciding things like that. I haven't been there with pregnancy, but I have been there with cancer treatments. Hang in there!!

Shit hit the fan at work just a minute ago, so I have no idea how much I can check in today. I was actually just on a phone call with my director and she got interrupted by someone and now I am sitting here listen to them talk about a case because I wasn't put on hold. lmao. 

Last night I had all these grand plans to do arts and crafts, which totally didn't happen. I ended up making healthy food instead of ordering pizza though. BF came over and we finished watching Man in the High Castle. 

That's all for now, back to work!

Last night H made HC Hawaiian-style pork and pineapple skewers with coconut jasmine rice and it was amazing. Easily the best meal I've had all week.

After supper we went to Target where I was able to get a whole bunch of fabric bins on clearance. Then we went home where I sorted the yarn and I'm mildly less shamed by my collection than I thought I would be:

Some of this will become stuff I donate to the church, some is earmarked for other projects, and some is just ... yarn. I'm thinking about sitting down tonight with my Ravelry page and just updating my whole stash because I'm a dork.

@wink0erin I know LAME! Last year the parents lost and one of the dads was such a bad sport. He punted the dodgeball into the rafters of the gym and hollered that IT's NOT FAIR! And we wonder why our kids can't cope or handle any type of disappointment...

Yesterday I was home with a headache, so I didn't really get on NEY. I started to feel better later in the morning, so I just did a ton of chores around the house. I also got to message my BF on Facebook for a while! He's already heading home in a few hours, I think. Hopefully he's able to send me something before he heads out for another 24+ hours.

Luckily I get two hours paid early release on Friday! That should be timed just right for me to get off work and go pick up BF. I'll go shopping at HomeGoods or Target by the airport until he shows up. Or maybe just find a beer somewhere.

Tuesday night I was super productive. I bought some new plants and potted them the same night. (Picture is them together, not spread around in their final resting places). Then I washed all of my lower level windows. Some of them were disgusting!

Today I have a laser appointment, so I'm getting off of work early. After that I'm going to try and get my yard into slightly better shape, and I might see if the teenage boy next door wants to help for some money. His parents told me he's saving up for a new iPhone, and I loved getting opportunities to make a few quick bucks when I was his age.
