Wedding Woes

Thursday!

edited June 2016 in Wedding Woes

We're almost to the weekend, ladies! How is everybody?

DH found out yesterday that he only has 3 hour worth of work to finish and then....... HE GETS TO COME HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somehow TK decided to post that before I was done.

Anyways. I am so excited. By the time he does all the stuff he has to do to wrap up, it will probably be very late Saturday before he makes it home. But I don't even care. I might even stay up past my bedtime to wait for him. This is like Christmas!

  • YAAAAAAY @thefanciestbeckler! I'm so excited for you and DH!!!!

I made it to work today without getting lost for the first time. I relish in small victories.

People need to either stop using speaker phone when discussing personnel issues, or turn the volume up so I can hear, too. I'm tired of hearing my name come up in conversation and not being able to hear clearly what they are discussing and why (WTF am I in trouble????)... and I'm pretty peeved at missing out on the whole of the gossip surrounding Mr. No's interview. Apparently, it did not go even remotely close to well.

I had a melt down on Monday in front of my mom. Between planning the wedding, honeymoon, buying the house, and stupid people at work my stress level was over the top. She let me cry it out and let me bitch some too, then after I calmed down, we talked it out.

Yesterday, I get a collection notice from the local hospital for my mammogram from a year ago. I paid for it out of pocket and now they are saying that I didn't pay it at all. So one more thing to add to my stress. The hospital here is a joke and they pull this kind of shit all the time.

My cousin just announced that her and her husband are expecting their first child. I'm so excited for them :)

    Edited because I can't spell.

Swim lessons ended this week.  The house is cleaned and ready for a party Saturday.  I need to do the grocery shopping and go up to church to decorate for vacation Bible school.

M2 found some Halloween makeup stuff yesterday and wanted to let paint her face.  I let them, but the pink has none come off their faces completely.  Oops.
  • @AtomicBlonde, of course you need to find out the entire gossip about Mr. No's interview and give us the details!

I'm dragging my butt today.  We had a Department gathering at a baseball game last night and I was up way past my usual bedtime.  It was fun.  We had 175 people and got some of our folks out for the bat spin during the 7th inning stretch.  I left at the top of the 8th and the score was tied.  The game went 17 innings at wasn't over until 1 AM!

Otherwise, SSDD.  We have a graduation party on Saturday and will probably get together with my family for Father's Day on Sunday.

  • Yay @thefanciestbeckler!!

We got to visit the cat at the hospital and she's doing ok. They have to keep her overnight again but think they she'll be ok. Took the dog to meet the boarder where he's going to stay for a few days when we go to the wedding and he didn't want to leave. I guess his scuffle with the pitbull didn't make him afraid of other dogs.

I'm so glad that your pup did okay with meeting the boarder! Our dog HATES being boarded - every time we've left him, he's ended up getting really sick from stress for the first few days that he's home. We didn't have to start boarding him until after he got attacked and could no longer stay with my in-laws, and I think it's because he's constantly on guard with all of the other dogs that are around.

  • Today is my last day in the office this week.  Just got done doing product training with my new boss, and other than that, it's been quiet.  Which is good for getting caught up before I leave for the week.  Tomorrow is going to be challenging.  Like, I have no idea what to expect, except that I don't want my mom to cry.  And she probably will, and I totally understand why.  But still, seeing my mom cry is going to be rough.

And because I have been a little distracted, we were 2 minutes from preschool this morning when I heard DS say in a panic from the backseat "Where's my shoes?!"  Y'all, I put him in the car without shoes.  I usually put them on when I get him dressed, but for a variety of reasons (he's been on this big thing about storing them in the bin by the back door; he has a fit if I get sunscreen on his shoes; we've been listening to the Daniel Tiger song "Clothes on, eat breakfast, brush teeth, shoes on and go to school" and shoes clearly come after breakfast, not after "clothes on") I didn't today.  Luckily, he has spare everything at school, although I noticed his spare shoes were getting snug, so that's probably the end of the road for those.  Wooz, of course, thought the whole thing was hilarious.

Picking up Switchin Kitchens tonight, and it will be so nice to have some premade dinners ready to go.

This weekend:  IDK.  My mom tomorrow.  Wooz has a meet Saturday.  We were supposed to get together with my mom until we realized it was Father's Day, and then we weren't, but now I think maybe we are?  We'll figure that out when I see her tomorrow.  Taking DH out to breakfast Sunday.  We were planning to see Finding Dory, but I think we might have to bump it to next weekend, or the one after that.  We'll see.
  • We are actually doing work at work today. I have this feeling there is going to be some mandatory over time next week. Normally, I welcome that but I have several appts after work that I would rather not cancel. We are flying to our friends' wedding tomorrow. Get back late sunday. Dog flies back Monday. Then we are supposed to go to family dinner next weekend but we'll see what work does.
There is also the possibility of a friend of a friend crashing at our place next weekend. I haven't spoken with FH about it yet but the idea of having someone stay at our place while we are gone doesn't bother me in the slightest. Also, I might have to work next Saturday so maybe he won't be completely unsupervised.
There is a lot of house work that has to get done before it is house guest ready and Idk when, between now and then, I will have the time to do it.
  • @Heffalump - I hope things go well for your mother. Sending lots of purple vibes for you guys.

    Me too!

My arts support group last night was awesome, and I kicked ass at work today. Going home soon to walk and feed the mutt and give away some Freecycle items.

  • Heffa- definitely sending lots of hugs and prayers to you and your family. My mom has had health scares before too, and it was the worst. Please let us know how it goes.
