I'm going to an afternoon wedding at a rather fancy restaurant. Do you think this maxi dress is appropriate? Not sure if it matters, but the bride is wearing a short lace wedding dress.

That dress is very pretty! I really like the colors. That should be perfect for an afternoon wedding.

As long as the fancy restaurant doesn't have a dress code that requires you to cover your shoulders I think you're fine.

Some super stodgy country clubs still do.  Or if they allow sleeveless, the neckline must be round and not V Neck, or sleeveless is allowed but spaghetti straps aren't, etc.
