Traditional Music for Processional

Hi Ladies,

What did you use for your maids' entrance? I'm going with all traditional/classical music. Thanks!

We're using the Overture from "The Marriage of Figaro" for our family and wedding party's entrance and "Ode to Joy" for our entrance.

For our recessional, we're using a country-folk arrangement of "Amazing Grace" and "Variations on a Shaker Tune, from Appalachian Spring."

    1. "Allegro Maestoso" (from Water Music Suite), (George F. Handel)
    2. "Brandenburg Concerto No. 1," Allegro, (Johann S. Bach)
    3. "Brandenburg Concerto No. 4," Allegro, (Johann S. Bach)
    4. "Coronation March" (from Crown imperial), (Sir William Walton)
    5. "Fugue in E-Flat Major" (from St. Anne), (Johann S. Bach)

    7. "Hornpipe" (from Water Music Suite), (George F. Handel)
    8. "Ode to Joy" (Ludwig van Beethoven)
    9. "Spring," Allegro, (from The Four Seasons), (Antonio Vivaldi)
    10. "The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba" (George F. Handel)
    11. "Toccata" (from Symphonie 5, opus 42), (Charles-Marie Widor)
    12. "Trumpet Tune and Bell Symphony," (Henry Purcell)

    14. "Wedding March" (from A Midsummer Night's Dream), (Felix Mendelssohn) This is usually used as a recessional.

    15. "Badinerie" (from Orchestral Suite No. 2), (Johann S. Bach)
    16. "Concerto grosso in D Minor," Op. 2, No. 3 (Presto), (Francesco Geminiani)
    17. "Rondeau" (from Abdelezar), (Henry Purcell)
    18. "Rondeau" (theme from Masterpiece Theater), (Jean Joseph Mouret)
    19. "Sonata in G Major" (Giuseppe Tartini)
    20. "Triumphal March" (Edvard Grieg)

(I took out  a few because I didn't think they would be appropriate.)

    I would add the following:
    21. Canon in D by Pachelbel
    22.  Jesu, Son of Man's Desiring by Bach
    23.  Air on a G String by Bach

We used 21 for the bridesmaids and 22 for the moms.  Worked really well.

Thanks ladies! There are so many options it's overwhelming! Thank you for your help.

The interwebs can be quite overwhelming with articles like "150 songs for your bridesmaids to walk down the aisle." LOL I just need one! ;)

I just reread that as "we had 21 bridesmaids." Lawd, child! I almost died!  :D:#
