so it has always been a dream of mine to stay in an over the water villa. almost anything I look up is in the Maldives and I really just dont want to travel that far. does anyone know any over the water villas that are in the Caribbean that isn't going to take a day to travel to? thanks so much!

They have new OWBs at the El Dorado resort in Riviera maya, Mexico. I think Sandals is opening some up soon as well.

Tahiti and the Maldives are the most well known places for them. Tahiti is an 8 hour flight from Los Angeles. Not sure what your budget is, either.

Sandals now has them at Royal Caribbean in Jamaica.

sandals montego bay just opened some this month. the ones with the infinity pools are sold out until 2018, however there are still nice ones without the pools available.
