Young Couple with Small Party wants a beautiful Location! Please Help!

Hello everyone,

me 21 and my fiance 25 are getting married next year February or March / depending on our Visa approval...

We are gonna have a Party of 35 people and want to have it in preferably Long Island.

We want to know what hotspots you have, that we can have a Ceremony at and a Reception.

Currenlty we are looking into the Westbury Manor or Leonards La Dolce Vita.
From secondary we havent heard any feedback back yet from the prices... Do you know any spots where can you have a smaller Party with a beautiful scenerey for a rather smaller budget />?

WE dont have any idea from wedding planning, but dont think we can also spend money on a Weddin Planner since we heard they have horandous prices like 2000 dollars ... for that we try to do it our self,..

If we choose a place, what are their responsibilities ? are they also decorating the ceremony place for us ?

Any Advice for total Wedding Newbies ?

Long Island is kind of a wedding factory.  If you rent a hall, chances are most everything is included (chairs, linens and some even include centerpieces and chair covers).  As far as decor, I don't have anything outside of centerpieces- it just wasn't needed.

I personally also wouldn't waste money on a wedding planner for such a small group.  I have 150 guests and was able to handle it all with working full time and planning from CT.

Do you know what you are looking for as far as a location?  You may be better off renting a private room at a restaurant if you truly plan to stick to 35 people.   Is there a certain feel you are going for?  Long Island has so many different options in a variety of locations.

Well I kinda wanna have a Ceremony and Reception at the same place,..I want something special not only a restaurant room, because my family from Germany is flying in and I wanna show them something you know ..

So like what I have found so far was the Westbury Manor hosting smaller Partys from 35 -50 Ppl.. And I am on the lookout for other ones like that so I have some more to look at and decide after that ...

We are getting married at the Westbury Manor next year.  They have a beautiful couple of smaller rooms upstairs and i think that it would be a great choice.  The prices are totally amazing for what they offer and the food and service has been great.  I love love love them.

When I was looking for Venues, I had looked at Westbury Manor (and went to many weddings there as well) and I liked that place.  The rep we dealt with was excellent - her name was something like Lorena? (she was from spain I think?)

Anyways, as it turned out,  in the end - we went with De Servertsky's at NYIT College. It's an old house like westbury manor but not as commerical.  Check them out - they have a BEAUTIFUL ballroom! Which wouid probably be perfect for a smaller number of guests....

I loved it there - can't wait until our wedding next year! Laughing
