I cannot find Velvet Bridesmaid Dresses

Does anyone know where I can find velvet bridesmaid dresses or which designers have velvet as an available fabric choice? I have been looking all over online and through bridal boutiques and their websites, but cannot find anyone doing anything in velvet right now. My wedding is in November so there is still some time, but I literally have found NOTHING since starting my searches.

You might need to steer clear of companies who are strictly marketing bridesmaids dresses and look at regular retail establishments. Do you know what your bridesmaids can afford to spend on a dress? (Having asked each one privately for their budget including alterations and staying under the lowest number)

Velvet is not a very popular fabric lately, so that's probably why it's hard to find. I agree with pp's to look at traditional stores as opposed to bridal stores. I don't think I've ever seen a line of bridesmaids dresses in velvet.

I saw it, back in 1975.  Velvet is not the most comfortable fabric to wear, and it spots easily.  I cannot imagine dancing in it.   Why do you want your bridesmaids to wear velvet?

Velvet is actually a super trendy very now fabric this year!

OP - I'm kind of thinking this might be one of those custom order jobs, though since it's pretty out of the box for a BM dress.

This. You don't have to buy "bridesmaid" branded dresses.

One of my favorite dresses and the one I wore to my rehearsal dinner was this Jessica Simpson velvet dress.


ModCloth has some decent party dress options - including one dress style which I know they tend to restock. They may be running low on velvet dress options now because people are bringing out spring clothing styles right now.

This might be hard time of year to try and find velvet. You would have been better off a few months ago. Ditto looking at department stores and Modcloth. Here are a couple from Modcloth that would make good BM dresses:
