Honeymoon Discussions

We just booked our Kauai honeymoon! Suggestions?

We're trying to bargain hunt as much as possible while still having a fun honeymoon. Google flights really helped us choose the most affordable flights we could find. Two nights at Airbnb and then the rest of the days at a resort really cut costs as well. Now we're looking at activities to do. We're definitely gonna hike a ton, trying to find an affordable helicopter/bi-plane to tour the island, snorkeling, horseback riding, etc. We're going at the end of May- early June.

Anyone had any good experiences in Kauai you'd like to share or recommend? Any specific companies you've used for these? Any memorable restaurants? Any tips?

What else can we do on this awesome island? (This will be our first time in Hawaii)

Thanks!

We really enjoyed this flight!  http://www.wingsoverkauai.com/

This riverboat tour/luau is pricey, but totally worth the money!  It is a non-commercial family run site, with family members cooking and performing.  It is far better than the super touristy shows on Oahu!   The dancers, who were rather young, showed us different versions of the Polynesian Hula from around the South Pacific.  Singers were good, too.

DH took hundreds of photos on this tour.

If you like plant life, Allerton Gardens is a MUST see!  DH loved it!

I loveee plants (Good thing we're going to the garden isle!). The luau idea sounds great, we need something cultural on our list! Thanks!

  • Tubing Adventure from Kauai Backcountry Adventures was amazing!

Captain Andy's dinner cruise to see the Na'Pali Coast.

    Waimea Canyon

    Luau at Germaine's Plantation

Chocolate Farm Tour near Kapaa.  You will taste various fruits they grow at the farm and will also have a chocolate tasting. They grow their own vanilla beans and have their own honey as well.

We've been to Kauai twice and did not go to Queen's Bath even though it is near where we stay.  It can be a very dangerous place to go with the way the tides can suddenly change.  You probably won't find many signs to find it because the local authorities don't really want tourists to go there.  There have sadly been some fatalities.  So if you do go, just be very aware the entire time!

Interesting, good to know about Queen's bath. And a chocolate tasting?! Yes please! Thanks for these, they're great suggestions.
