Hot flashes

I just turned 50 and will be getting married on Sept 1st. This is my second marriage but first wedding, and the first marriage for my fiance. I am perimenopausal and have hot frequent hot flashes. I can go months without getting them and then they come full storm; this has been going on for the past two years. Any advice on not sweating out my hair and make-up if the flashes start up? We are have our ceremony outside and the reception inside (mostly) at 6:00pm.

I feel for you!  This is a good article:

You should talk to your doctor about possible medication therapy.

  • Vit D, Vit E and Black Cohosh helped me immensely.  Took a week or so, but it really worked.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Hello,
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, Managing hot flashes during your special day, especially with changing venues, can be a concern. To stay cool, opt for lightweight, breathable fabrics like chiffon or cotton for your dress and outfit. Consider layering strategically with a shawl or wrap that can be easily removed if needed. Keep a handheld fan or cooling towel nearby for quick relief, and stay hydrated throughout the day by drinking plenty of water. Before the ceremony, use a makeup setting spray and keep blotting papers handy to manage any sweating. Communicate your situation to a trusted friend who can assist discreetly if needed.
