Wedding guest attire

Is bubble gum pink too much of a daytime color to wear to a March wedding reception that starts at 5 p.m.? The ceremony starts at 2.

Re: Wedding guest attire

  • No the color is fine. I think the style of the dress would be more important.
  • I'd make sure the dress is comfortable as it sounds like you will be wearing it for a while (2pm ceremony with a 5pm reception start = probably 10 hours in it!).  Otherwise as ILoveBeachMusic stated the overall style is more important than color...you don't want to wear club clothes to a wedding.

Generally the dress code is implied through the formality of the invite received. Also, if you are attending a church ceremony (and its March!) you may want something that covers your shoulders, doesn't show off too much of the girls, and comes down to the knees.  Of course modesty can be achieved with a wrap or bolero as well if you feel like you're showing too much!

  • Depends more on the style and fabric than the color.

Do you have a specific dress in mind? Can you post a picture?
  • I have a pink sheath that looks a lot like this but has some silver detail at the waist:

I am that person who is always cold, so my clothes are modest by default. I shall definitely wear some sort of sweater or wrap. I have a silver sparkly one with long sleeves that is my go-to for weddings.

  • The pink dress with the silver sparkly wrap sounds lovely for a March wedding.

Thanks. Then that's what I'll do.

Thank you to everyone for the input and advice. Much appreciated.
