Good morning, WW! How was the weekend? Everyone survive?
Wooz had a rough weekend. When I picked her up Friday afternoon, she was crying. I have an emotional kid, so at first I was concerned, but figured it was something like "We didn't get to finish the Lego treehouse before you showed up and now I'm bereft." Nope. A couple minutes before, another kid lost his shit, threw a chair, and it hit Wooz and one of her friends in the head. :O Her head was okay, fortunately, but she was shaken up. I didn't get to speak with the director in person, since she was with the kid and his mom when I arrived, but she called when we were en route to Trader Joe's to make sure Wooz was okay and assure me that "the child in question has been separated from our program." So that was that.
Saturday morning, DH took her to her riding lesson while DS and I took the cats to the vet. That ran over and we ended up missing DS's swim lesson, so we were going to meet them at the barn. But I had laundry to do, and DS wanted to work on a puzzle (he is obsessed with floor puzzles lately), so I decided to just stay home. Thus, we missed Wooz being thrown from her horse hard enough to crack her helmet. Yikes. Fortunately, she was fine. Must be nice to be 7--DH and I were saying if it had been one of us, we'd still be stiff and sore. I think she literally bounced back. Got back on her asshole horse and finished her lesson, then went to the tack store for a new helmet. DH also took her for ice cream on the way back.
Yesterday was awesome. Beautiful weather. Drove up to Chimney Rock, had our picnic, hiked the easy little family trail. Then we tackled one of the bigger trails, which is 90% stairs. DS took it like a champ, and he was the one I was most concerned about. We did not get to the highest, toughest trail, because DS was tired, both from climbing and because it was naptime. Wooz wants to go back and do it as a Mommy/Wooz thing in a few weeks.
And that was pretty much my whole weekend, aside from laundry and stuff. I thought of y'all as I changed the sheets.
