Wedding Woes

TGI effing F

Good morning!

My TV is stuck on this guys face and I don't want to get up to reboot it.  Not sure why it's sideways either.

What's everyone got going on this weekend?  I have a girls night barring any illness causing cancellations tomorrow.  Tonight is actually supposed to be spring like weather so I'm hoping to get a 4 mile training walk in.  Maybe I'll get crazy and go for 5!

  • @kimmiinthemitten  *kicks your TV* better?

    @charlotte989875  exciting!!!

Not a whole lot last night. I was hungry but wasn't sure what to make, so I basically picked at a bunch of food until my stomach was satisfied lmao!

I ended up going on a hunt for stuff. I have eye drops and a lip mask normally in the bathroom, but Penny has been in there so obviously missing. So before bed, I started looking underneath things. I ended up finding them under the stove, but I also discovered there is a CRAP TON of cat hair and dust bunnies there. My eyes were puffing up from allergies, so I told M that he's gotta do it this weekend after I do upstairs.

Wiped them down, used drops and went to bed. WELP THAT DIDN'T WORK! My eye is so sore this morning :(
I'm going to clinic tomorrow because I think there might be an infection in my sinuses, but higher up {like around top of nose/eye area} and it could be causing and infection in my eye. Or it's completely unrelated. Regardless I need to get this dealt with asap, and maybe getting something will stop the sinus crap happening for past few months. Guhh

Tonight I think M said he's going to a buddy's place to play poker. That's fine. I have editing on a video to do, and maybe I'll take a bath. I'm likely crashing early because all week I've been sleeping not so great with my nose waking me up -.-'

    DH's step-grandpa died last night.  :(

Tonight:  DH is going to a bball game because his job got a suite for the managers.  DefConn and I are going to shop for his bday and then work on cleaning house.

Tomorrow: DefConn's bday party.  No clue how many people are coming.  I'll just make food and we'll see what happens.  LOL

Sunday:  The boys are all taking off for NC at 3am.  I guess I'll be picking up after the party.

I might have to watch FIL's dog so he can go.  She's sweet, but still a puppy and still pretty mouthy and my house is not dog friendly. So I hope his neighbors can watch her.

DH and the boys will be getting home late Tuesday.  Tuesday is also DefConn's birthday.  I've never not been with him on his birthday and woke up him up singing 'happy birthday'.  I have feelings about this.  I'll get over it (and he'll be fine...since he's going on a road trip and staying in a hotel (you should hear the twang he puts on that word, it's ridiculously adorable) with his dad, papaw, brother, and uncles), but I can't say I don't feel a little heart squeeze about it.
  • @mrsconn23  sorry to hear :(
and damn woman you have a busy weekend!
  • I'm sorry to hear about step-grandpa, mrsconn.  Hugs to you and mrconn and the whole connfamily.

Happy almost-birthday to defconn!!!  Enjoy the party, and good luck with the dog.

Tonight DS has his second and last soccer skills night.  Wooz has a PTA fundraiser, but I think we're blowing it off.  It's for that raffle basket thing I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, and I pre-purchased tickets.  Her class gets to view the baskets today, and they can "spend" their tickets then, plus you don't have to be there to win.  Soccer is 6-7 and PTA is 6-9, and we're supposed to hit the road first thing in the morning.  So I think we'll get takeout, park the kids in front of a movie, and throw some stuff in a bag.

Tomorrow is Grandfather Mountain, Mast Store, cabin, and ILs.  It will be fun.  We made trail mix again last night, so we're prepared. ;)  Sunday we're going our separate ways after breakfast, going straight to DS's swim class, to soccer from there, dropping Wooz at a friends during soccer, and then after that probably crashing. :)

    Happy Friday, y'all!
  • Ugh, a lot of repairs going on this morning.  First, my H and our plumber are going to one rental house because her toilets are running and the kitchen sink and one bathroom sink are both clogged.  Then my H is popping over to another one to meet an appliance repair guy who is looking at the washer that is making loud noises.  Like the old saying, "It always comes in threes."  I'm waiting for the third call, lol.

Today's my half day.  I think that's the only way I'll survive it.  I just haven't been getting enough sleep all week and the weariness keeps accumulating.  I do have two mystery shops to complete after work, but they're within a block of each other, so it's a nice two-fer.  I'm doing two more mystery shops tomorrow morning and then my H and I have a third MS breakfast.  I'll go weeks without doing any shops but, this week, I will have done a total of 7!

Also tomorrow morning before starting on any of that, I'm meeting with some lab guy for blood work.  I don't know if you all remember, but I tried to get life insurance and after reviewing my "prescription history" they came back with 5x less coverage for the same amount.  This labwork was ordered by the insurance company to (hopefully) get a better deal for me.  It's just incredibly pathetic that I signed up for the insurance (though I don't have to pay until we come to an agreement) TWO months ago and I'm still in limbo on it.  The insurance pays for the labwork and the guy is actually coming to my house!  However, the earliest appointment they had was 9:45AM and I have to be fasting.  Not looking forward to spending the morning starving, lol.

  • @mrsconn23, I'm sorry to hear there was a death in your all's family!  Happy early b-day DefConn.  A "boy's weekend" sounds so sweet and fun.  Though I get your heart's tugging a bit.

@MissKittyDanger, hope you're feeling better soon!  You have had way too much sickness crud this winter.  It's time you got a break!

  • So sorry @mrsconn23. Hugs to you and your family.

    Woohoo @charlotte989875!!! Have fun!

    Morning!

Boss man was off yesterday, and he's off again today, so I'm loving life right now. My teammate came in on a warpath today, though. I think I'll just keep to myself to preserve my good mood.

Tomorrow I'm supposed to go get my nails done with FSIL (DH's side). Neither of us ever get manis so I'm looking forward to it. Then I might go see Beauty and the Beast with one of my best friends. We will see.

Sunday morning is church and Sunday night is church too. We usually only have service on Sunday mornings, but we're doing a special service that night. Should be a lot of fun.

Only 2 more weeks before I get to see DH! He's all excited about it, which is super cute. He never gets excited about anything. I can't lie, it's probably mostly because he can't wait to get laid, but I would be lying if I said that wasn't a factor for me too ;)

  • Sorry to hear of his passing @mrsconn23.  I know it's not the same but can you facetime him?

    Have fun @thefanciestbeckler!

Oh I already planned on calling him in the morning.  :) They'll be on the road by the time I wake up.  It's a 12-13 hour trip.

I'm sorry for your loss Mrs.conn

last day of vacation here. Travel home tomorrow, crew game tomorrow night, Sunday some work and getting some things done for m2s party next week. i don't know how many people are coming either.
  • @short+sassy  right!? It's all been sinus so I'm wondering if it's essentially the same cold constantly. I know my coworker had a constant cough, then got pneumonia and once she was on the meds the cough went away. I'm hoping this will be the case with this sinus crap.
Doesn't help weather keeps acting crazy ...
  • @kimmiinthemitten take full advantage of the spring like weather and go for 5! :)

  • Going to see the baby tomorrow!!!!
Yay have fun!  Is this your first?!
On my side, yes. H's brother has two kids, who are wonderful, but I think it's a little different when it's your own sister. I'm so so exited!
  • @atomicblonde  I totally feel you on the stress and neglect. <3 Hugs anyways, and hopefully this ends soon and you guys can go back to feeling less stressed!
  • I desperately need to get out for a run, and especially stroller runs since I have a race in a month. But the weather doesn't cooperate on the weekends and that's really my only time to run with the stroller. B is home sick from daycare today but I am not motivated to run midday so I'm not sure if I'll get it in. Will definitely get a in a few walks with him today though because it is in the 50s today. Hoping I can motivate myself later this afternoon or before lunch depending on when he wakes up.

Weekend will just be tending to the sick baby and hoping to get some fresh air when the rain holds off. I don't know how people have lives when they have babies, I sure haven't figured it out. Maybe if I had friends with babies around the same age but idk

    sorry to hear that @mrsconn23

what about calling him first thing that morning and singing to him? My parents still sing me happy birthday the morning of my birthday lol. sometimes I call them so they can sing since it's usually when I'm driving to work
  • I have a weekend gloriously free of plans.

    We might see some movies.

I will do some work on Pride.

I will stay in PJs and watch Netflix.

There might be some laundry done, there might not be.

K is a hot mess, her wisdom teeth surgery recovery isn't really going very well.  She's still having to take hydro for pain control.  Mashed potatoes are getting old fast and it's just hard to find tasty soft foods.  She did a protein shake this morning that seemed alright.  I'm hoping, since it seems like we broke the pain cycle this morning, we can stay ahead of the pain and she can concentrate on healing.
  • @VarunaTT  does she like eggs? Those are soft. Also pasta, avacado and once the stitches have healed, she can have rice {if she likes it}
    Also what about soup?
  • @kimmiinthemitten, last weekend in April. So close, yet so damn far away...

  • @kimmiinthemitten  that sounds crazy but I don't doubt old wives tales LMAO! My mum's friend and her husband had been trying for years, my mum ended up pregnant with me. My mum's friend was essentially around for majority of the pregnancy {because they were bffs and the clinic was a block away from her friend's place}
9 months after I was born, they had their daughter ;)

Thanks!  I did think about eggs.  I was a little worried about her getting them down easily since chewing is painful.  She has asked for guacamole, so I'm grabbing some of that on the way home.  We have some orzo I thought might be doable.

We tried some soup successfully last night.  It had rice in it, which she thought she got stuck in a stitch, but I couldn't see any.

If they're soft - like soft boiled or scrambled - they she could mash them against the roof of her mouth.

Rice is such a weird food. When I had dental work, I had rice the next day since I wasn't bleeding anymore. I just ate it with my head tilted forward so less risk of getting caught. I did get one caught, and used a qtip to get it out. Wasn't greatest feeling but worked.
  • @VarunaTT, get her some of those fruit squeeze pouch things.  She doesn't need to suck (and risk dry socket), just squeeze it and it will come up.   They have them in the applesauce section and you can also find more flavors in the baby aisle.
