eta: only because I saw a natgeo thing the other day about some guy in some depoverished country who started a worm farm and he talked about the worm eggs.
Y'all have got me laughing so hard right now. I hope nobody comes to check on me- I don't know how to explain to my coworkers that I was looking at worm porn hahahahaha
As an aside, I thought the live birth was a characteristic limited to mammals, or am I remembering biology wrong?
mammals are warm-blooded, vertebrates, that produce milk to feed young, and typically give birth to live young (there are several species that lay eggs such as platypus and echidna). live birth isn't limited to mammals as some fish and reptiles give birth to live young.
Nobody at the bus stop knew what it was. A dad at the bus stop took a picture and sent it to a "naturalist friend". Dad texted I said was giving birth.
Guppies are one type of live-bearing fish, so are platys and mollies - all very common and easy to keep. DK has a few livebearing fish species that are more rare - we've gotten to see a few of them give birth. Wolverine always thinks it's cool to watch. This isn't my video, but gives a good view at the 1:00-1:15 timeframe.
