Re: Wednesday!!

M said he rocked the interview :)
Position could become permanent and they would like to make it permanent, but the budget has to be able to work with it. Once they have the budget, it would be permanent - at the moment it's 1 year contract.

He'll know by Friday. The drive there is maayyyybeeee 10 mins from our place.

Oh, wow!  That would be great!  REALLY crossing my fingers for you all.

And how nice that they are making a decision so quickly.  I've been in some interview processes that take 1-2 months.  Government jobs, at least for the U.S., can be even longer.

Wooohoooo! Keep us all posted!! I will keep my fingers crossed! And his new commute would be a breeze!
Of course :) And it'd be ideal because the future day care we're looking at would be en route too. He can work somewhat diff hours {like 7-3 or 8-4 or 9-5 kinda deal} so somewhat "shorter" daycare times. :)

@misskittydanger, that's awesome news.  My fingers will be kept crossed.

update on the tax thing:  Moved our files to another office.  DH sat with them for 30 minutes to answer some stuff. Office called him back to tell him we needed to go back to the original filer. They couldn't make sense of it either.

We have an appointment with a new company altogether on Friday.

edit: and it's not super complicated either.  That's what baffles my mind.  We don't have stocks/bonds or anything.  Just one rental place! OMG!

There is an ad to the side of TK right now that is advertising "walk in cat cages".  It's basically a tall cat tree inside a big, high cage.  Not quite sure what the point of caging one's cat is, though I could see something like this being used in a pet store or pet adoption place.

At any rate, I had a vision of exactly what would happen if I got one of these.  My cat would walk in to go investigate the tree.  I would close the door and lock it.  Cat would immediately freak right the f**k out when she realized she's trapped.  She would sing the "song of her people" for hours on end...or until I opened the door again.

Cat would never again, in a million years, go near that cage area.

Bottom line:  It might work...once.  That's it.

  • @charmedpam what seems to be stumping them? H does our taxes and we had a rental property in the last (later sold), investments etc. you must have something unique?

yup.  well, aside from the odd way w2's are printed in the industry, he makes income in both IN and IL.  It's stumping them on how to enter it I guess?
