For those who have real hardwood floors in their homes, what do you find to be the best for cleaning them?

I use Murphy's Oil Soap. It's pretty inexpensive, and you dilute it in hot water. It's done a great job cleaning up all kinds of spills, including candle wax (if you're going to drop a candle on the ground, make sure it's not red!). It has a very distinct smell that's not great, but it fades after a few hours. It also makes our floors shiny but not slippery, if that makes sense.

Bona Hardwood floor cleaner. They have a kit with a duster head, microfiber head, and cleaner that I use. It cleans well and doesn't leave the film that the Swiffer WetJet does.

I'm cracking up that it says not to use on carpet. Who used it on carpet that made them have to give that warning???

So my roomba does a good job now but when I want to do the swiffer I just use the swiffer for hardwood floors.

Murphy's oil soap or Bona wood cleaner.

Murphys Oil Soap or just vinegar and warm water when we do a thorough washing. 

We do the Roomba most days and it keeps them pretty clean.

Warning!  Do not use Murphy's Oil Soap!  It looks great, but it can damage your floors.  It will seep into cracks and blemishes in the finish and soak into the wood.  It is impossible to remove once this has happened.  Ask any professional floor re-finisher.
Soap (I like Mr. Clean) and water is the best cleaner.  I have had oak hardwood floors for the past 10 years in my kitchen.

Me for the last 2-3 years, "My hardwood floors used to look so beautiful and shiny.  One of these days, I really need to do something other than just sweeping up the dog and cat hair."

I use pinesol but my uncle - who does hardwood flooring for a job - said microfiber cloth and a wood safe spray would do the job.

He always suggests microfiber because you can keep and wash and reuse

I have a Norwex mop that I just use water with.  We have someone who comes over to clean every couple of months or so, but I'm not sure what she uses.
