Re: Wednesday

  • Ladies .... please tell me I'm not alone.

I picked up some soup and spring rolls from a restaurant next to my work. Spring rolls are great. Went to have soup, felt full. Fine. I'll just leave it open and nibble on some.

    Started feeling sick.
I swear ... I am more sensitive to smells while on my period.
    Anyone else sensitive to anything?

((reaching over to grab a spring roll))

My sense of smell does not change, but I don't have a strong one anyway.  At least, that is what is it seems like compared to other people.

With that said, I find the smell of fake vanilla (ie, candles, sprays, etc.) a bit nauseating.

Speaking of senses, a weird change that started happening in about my mid-30s is foods/drinks that are high in artificial flavors have a chemical taste to me now.  Whereas they didn't before.  One of the worst culprits are those flavored creams for coffee.  It doesn't even matter what flavor they are.  To me, they all taste about the same.  Like sickly sweet sugar followed by a chemical taste.  At least they're easy to avoid, lol.

  • @short+sassy I worked at Eckerd's when Vanilla Fields came out. We would go through a tester a week. I can now no longer stand anything vanilla scented.

  • My friend would never speak to me again if I didn't recommend Pequad's for deep dish. He says everything else is trash, lol.
I personally recommend Fado's Irish Pub but only if Aaron Wilhoft is playing. ;)

We FINALLY got a dining table, lol. other than that, SSDD. I sewed two rows of my quilt but will have to rework them a little to get the points to match up. Probably won't work too much on it till after the weekend. The house is trashed and I need to get my shit together. I am going to try to finish it before DH goes to his conference, so he can take it with him and ship it in the US, but it won't be the end of the world if I take longer.

Thanks!  Deep dish pizza definitely feels like one of those "musts" for when in Chicago.  I do prefer NY thin style.  But, let's face it, I'm just excited to be going somewhere famous for good pizza.  I'm counting my blessings and will not be splitting hairs, lol.

    *hands you one* I'll share.

The level of "omg that smell" you'd swear I was pregnant. Older I get, the more it happens. Usually it's rancid smells that are my biggest issue lol!

Also .... guilty of using Coffeemate French Vanilla. I'm really picky on flavours though
