No chairs at Botanical Gardens?

Is anyone planning their wedding at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham? I'm in love with the rose garden but they only allow 8 chairs in the garden so most guests would be standing. I'm being chastised on another board for even considering a venue without chairs for everyone. I didn't know it was that big of a deal? I think it's a little odd but I just love the venue so much and we have a small guest list and a short ceremony.

Please reconsider.  It is in poor taste to expect your guests to stand throughout your ceremony.

Guests will arrive early.  The amount of time spent standing extends beyond your ceremony time.  Chairs are a simple, common, and mandatory courtesy.  Your vision should not take priority over the hospitality of your guests.
