Today I interviewed six people for one role on my team. When I notified the applicants that didn't get the position, a couple of them asked me for feedback on their interview. They're internal applicants, so I know them both and do need to maintain a professional relationship with them.
One of them used most of the interview time to complain about a new process on our team. The other one did. not. shut. up. Neither of those reasons are totally why they didn't get the position, but they did contribute to why I didn't want either person on my team. What do I give them for feedback? I feel awful saying it's their personality that I didn't like, but I honestly didn't think either of them would get along with the rest of the team.
