Douglaston Manor

Does anyone have any reviews on the Douglaston Manor? Specifically the food quality, service and sound between rooms?

Thanks!

I went to a wedding there in May...it was BAD on all the accounts you just mentioned..

    1. Food was blah.  At the cocktail hour they had one table of fruit, cheese and cold cuts and they were never replenished.  They had one poor server passing around one try and then she gave around once more with one other thing.  The CH was outisde and they had Budwiser umbrellas over half the tables.  They also had the other bridal party walk outside past us all after their ceremony as we were getting ready to go in.  During the ceremony, loud golfers were walking right past the area...

The bar outside had one guy, the line was always long, and he had a tip cup out and plastic trays piled up next to his rollaway bar.

During the reception, the FOB was trying to give a speech and you couldn't hear him as the other room was playing loud party music and it really ruined the moment.

After the cake cutting, they rolled the cake out and it just sat on a table by the bathrooms for 20 minutes.

I don't know how much my friends paid to have their wedding here, but if it was more that 2 grand, I would lose my mind.

    HTH!

I agree with Amanda.  I went to a party there once and it was not good.  The food was plain, and the service wasn't great.  There are better places out there.
February 20th I marry my best friend. My heart hasn't stopped smiling.
