No first look but want to be at cocktail hour?

Hi everyone! My FI and I are getting married in 2020.. We really don't want to do a first look but we also want to attend cocktail hour (or at least part of it). Our ceremony and reception are both in the same location, so we are wondering how we are going to squeeze all of our photos in this short amount of time! If you have experience with this type of situation, could you please offer advice? Thanks so much in advance!

  • You can do all your photos without the two of you and then just do the last ones to finish up during cocktail hour. Depending on how much you want to do, you could theoretically squeeze them into 30 minutes to be at the second half of cocktail hour.

The other option would be to do your photos of the two of you during dinner or after the reception. I'm not really of fan of either of those, though. I don't think most couples get to eat as it is, and I personally was tired and sweaty after the reception. I wouldn't have wanted to wait to do photos then.

We did photos after dinner.  It actually wasn't planned that way but it was nearly 100 degrees so we postponed the photos with the BP to after we ate.

We still managed to attend most of our cocktail hour but not all of it.
