Catholic wedding outside of the church

I am wondering if any ladies out there has have an understanding deacon or priest who has agreed to marry a couple outside of the church/received permission from the bishop. We weren't sure we were going to do a catholic wedding when we started this process and now all contracts are signed. We have one catholic chaplain who agreed to do it but he isn't 100% sure he can do it.
Any advice or suggestions would be a appreciated!

Re: Catholic wedding outside of the church

  • I am not sure if my response is too late, but the Archdiocese of Baltimore now allows weddings outside of a church. My parish priest says it is allowable, but will not include communion. If your chaplain cannot do it, I would suggest completing the pre-Cana program and contacting Catholic Churches near your venue.
