Help! Invites for single friends didn't have and guest, what do we do?! XP Etiquette

Good Evening! We sent out invitations and didn't put and guest for our single friends who we are allowing to bring a guest. We only had outer envelopes, but the RSVP card included was blank to put their names or names and number. How do we clear up confusion so our guests know they have a plus one? Invitations were sent.

    Welcome to The Knot. 

    The easiest way to communicate that the invitees may bring a plus one would be to call them.
