Re: It's Thursdaayyy

  • Regarding the dog shit: A quiet "I believe this belongs to you. If you leave it here again, it will be returned to you. If you throw it here again, it will be returned to you the same way."

    I have a dog issue myself: One of the few remaining open amenities at my building while the Covid-19 shelter-in-place order is in effect (ends April 30, officially, but it won't surprise me if it is extended indefinitely) is a dog park, located behind my building. My apartment windows are over the dog park, and it seems like 24/7, including after 10pm, people with dogs are out there. Some are not even social distancing. Those dogs are barking nonstop and there is a noisy fence and gate. I've complained to the management about the noise when people and dogs are there after 10pm (I can live with it during the day even though I'm trying to work), but the management hasn't done anything effective about it.

    @mrsconn23 and @levioosa , I'm sorry. I hope the worst doesn't happen.

    At my end, I actually find my days quite full, between working a tax job from home (here in Texas, CPA firms are "essential" but my bosses have the staff working remote) and various Zoom and remote activities, including being in touch again with old friends from NYC.  A weirdly pleasant effect of social distancing forcing everyone to go remote and online.
  • @CharmedPam - I wouldn't even give a thanks.  Anyway you can just return to sender or tell delivery people you don't want it?  If you feel the need to reach out, you should just say "You need to stop sending me things.  End of story."  The more you engage with ExH, the more he will think that you can work things out.  I'm sorry he can't just leave you alone.

    @Jen4948 Sorry about the dog park noises.  Do you have any WD40?  If so, go down and spray the gate latch and hinges.  That will help with the noisy fence and gate.

    Omg I'm sorry @CharmedPam !  I think your text to him was perfect but I'm sorry he's sending gifts/trying to be involved.  Just no!
  • @CharmedPam Jeez rough :( I know you were speaking to someone before, (idk if it was a therapist) but is there a way to speak to them now to work through this? That honestly sounds like an emotional situation and I cannot imagine :\
  • @CharmedPam, I'm sorry to hear you were so upset the other day!  Set parameters with your ex, if you need to.  A divorce is hard enough.  He doesn't need to be contacting you, if it's upsetting.

    On the bright side, your heat is back on.  It's a brand new day and it's almost the weekend!

    That's an interesting idea with the WD40, thanks.
