I also find that Pontoon boating was singled out to be funny.  I mean, we have a speed boat that can only hold about 7-8 people.  We've only taken ourselves with FIL and the kiddo out so far.  I will say that there has been varying levels boats tied off as party barges.  I feel I'm seeing it less than last year.

I'm surprised hotels are only 3.  I get that in one's own room it's fairly safe.  But hotels always seem like they are full of people everywhere you go, in all the common areas.  

Now I'm kinda freaked out. We're renting a pontoon to take out on the lake Sunday. 

From what I've gathered, we show up at the dock, the clerk gives us a pouch with the keys and whatever documents they give you. All the safety instruction is done virtually before we get there. Then we take our own stuff to pontoon #X, load it up, untie and drive away. I guess there's a risk of exposure with the worker and touching the tie offs, but that seems easily mitigated with masks and hand sanitizer. What am I missing?

This is my take with AMC.  They announced they were in over their head, so I wouldn't be surprised If they scrapper premier.  They cant be making money out of it if one member even went 2x in one month!

@CharmedPam I know that most movie theaters make their money in the concessions.  So I always tried to buy at least one thing (usually soda) at the stand so they still made their money off of me (even though I still get 10% off of that).  The rest I brought in (my own popcorn b/c I like it way better than theirs and my own candy if I wanted any).  I don't want them to scrap it b/c holy man, do I miss seeing my movies.  But I'd be willing to do a little bit more per month to keep it.

I think it's the sheer number of people you can pack on to a pontoon and can't socially distance.  Also if you tie off with people in general, to create a party barge, it can be hard to be socially distant. So as long as you're not bringing 20 randos on your pontoon, you should be OK.

That makes way more sense. They're capping everyone at 10 passengers, but we're going with people we've been socializing in our house with anyway.

@MyNameIsNot I think the pontoon is considered high risk because of the amount of people you can place on one. If you’re going with people who have been equally cautious at home then I don’t see an extra inherent risk with that. If you’re nervous I would just take sanitation supplies along and wipe down the frequently touched surfaces of the boat before you use it.

We had really high winds on Wednesday afternoon and our power went out. It stayed out for 18.5 hours! I was so worried about our freezer which is full of food. I was so glad when the power was back on because we have lost power for days in the past. I really wanted it back on before we left for Chicago (DS2 is staying at the house and dog sitting). Anyway, it came back on and we were on our way to Chicago. The boys were so excited to see us. GS1 was asking for Papa and tools as soon as we walked into their room after they woke up from their nap. Their "party" is Saturday (us, the other grandparents, and the babysitter). Luckily they don't know what a real birthday party is so they aren't really missing anything. We had dinner from one of our favorite restaurants here. It is within walking distance of DD's house so SIL walked over to pick up the dinner. It was really good and reasonable. They are doing a family style dinner for $55. It was salad and three entrees meant to feed five. There was pasta leftover and meatballs along with enough salad for two people to have lunch! I count that as a win not to mention it was delicious.

Well!  As a veteran of six mandatory evacuations plus a couple other weather events where there was no power for days, let me give you and the other PPs the low-down on refrigerators/freezers, lol.

A full freezer will go 2-3 days without unthawing the food to unsafe levels.  As long as the door is not opened or at least not opened often.  You might lose your ice cream, lol, but everything else will stay frozen.  If you don't have a full freezer...which I assume is hypothetical because who doesn't have a full freezer, lol...it will thaw faster.  But you can solve that by filling it with gallon(s) of water in the days preceding the bad weather.

Turn your refrigerator to one of the lowest settings.  Open the door as little as possible.  That will typically keep food good for about one day.  But here is a trick to know for sure!  Which is especially great in the event of an evacuation, because you weren't home to even know if the power went out or for how long...

Put a frozen cup of water in the fridge with a quarter on top.  If the ice melts enough that the quarter falls all the way to the bottom of the cup, the temperature got too low for too long and it is potentially no longer safe to eat the perishable items.
