DYI Wedding Album

I am just finishing up my wedding album, but I'm stuck on family photos. Originally I was going to have all of our family photos on one spread, but I can't find a layout I like and I think I have too many for just one spread. So instead I'm going to do two spreads, but I can't decide if I should have all of his family on one spread and all of mine on the other or if it would be okay to have a combination of both families on each spread. I have two photos that I plan on using that include both families so I'm not sure where they would go if I went with spreads that separate the families into his and her. I'm kind of leaning towards combined, but I could use some advice. My husband won't give his opinion because he doesn't want me to blame him if I end up not liking it.

The separation or combination doesn't have to be absolute. You can put one picture with both families kind of centrally on one spread and the other centrally on the other. That makes perfect sense to me, especially considering the whole "both families have a connection now because of your marriage" thing. Fully combined would be perfectly fine as well.

I made multiple similar Shutterfly albums as gifts for our parents. I kept a lot of the pictures the same, but added in more of whichever side for which I was making the album. I didn't feel the need to totally eliminate my husband's family from my parents' album.

It's not that serious. There is no need to obsess. You will not love or despise the two pages of this album for the rest of your days. Make a decision and it will be fine.
