Traveling for wedding

My fiance and I just moved to PA. I have always placed on being married at the church in NYC that my grandparents were married in but we want to have the reception in our backyard at our new home 15 minutes into PA. 99% of our guests live in Central NJ. Would it be too much to ask people to travel to NYC for a ceremony then to PA for the reception? What about splitting it into two days?

It’s not unreasonable, but traveling from Central NJ to NYC and then to PA in one day could be tiring for guests. Splitting the ceremony and reception into two days—especially a weekend—could make it more manageable and enjoyable for everyone, while still honoring your family tradition.

Make your wedding even more memorable by incorporating visits to top local attractions into your celebration.
