Wedding Woes

When is nap time on WEDNESDAY

Anyone else? B was up at 1am with a bad dream and I couldn't fall back asleep until about 330. I hate that I can never get back to sleep after a MOTN wake up.

Re: When is nap time on WEDNESDAY

  • For my Indy knotties, the central Indiana chick fil a locations have a free sandwich coupon in the app - I think it is all central Indiana locations but not 100% sure. Worth a look if you go there
  • I thought it was Thursday when I woke up.

My arm still hurts from my shoulder to my elbow.  It's a step up from the throbbing I had through my whole arm last night.

I'm trying to figure out what to do about my hair tomorrow.  I have a hair appt.  I need to lighten up for spring.

    SSDD otherwise.

  • I was also awake then @kvruns! Baby M was up from 1-2 and again from 3-4. I had to force myself out of bed this morning.

So I have someone on my team, has been with us for 2 years, right after she graduated undergrad. She’s does excellent work & was just promoted. Yesterday she told me she doesn’t know what she wants to do with her life but she doesn’t think this is it. I feel bad for her, she was really upset but I sort of don’t know how to help her. And I want to be flexible with her work but also we hired her (& are paying her well) to do a particular job. And this is right after someone else just left the bank from my team.

    Ugh, I need more coffee.
  • definitely more coffee is in order @charlotte989875  That's tough with the employee although I think it is good she felt comfortable to be open and honest about it. Do you think she is going to quit or is it more of wanting to explore other options while still working?
  • @kvruns Oh no :( BK was up around midnight but I didn't know because she's quiet, but I dread when she can leave her room/bed

    @charlotte989875 poor bub :(
  • I'm leaving work early today (at 10:45) for my routine endo appt.  I really like this doctor...and I've had a few I didn't...so I stay with him.  He has Type I diabetes himself, so it's nice that he personally understands the challenges.  But mainly he's friendly, reassuring, along with seeming up on the latest developments and gives good advice.  However the office is very poorly run.  I always have to wait 90 minutes-2 hours past my appointment time before I'm finally seen.  Oh well.  My phone is charged.  I have my noise blocking headphones with me.  At least I'm prepared for the long wait, lol.

His office is in a suburb, so I'm investigating what national chain I want to pick up lunch from, lol.  I know it's sacrilege, but we hardly have any chains in NOLA yet I see commercials all the time for things I want to try.  Buffalo Wild Wings has a truffalo sauce (buffalo sauce with white truffle oil), but their bogo wings deals are only on Tues. and Thurs.  I shall have to make a special trip on a Tuesday.   That's okay.  I've been wanting to try Sonic's Bacon Jam cheeseburger too, lol.

I *think* it’s the later- sounds like she wants to figure out what she wants to do while continuing to work. She needs a paycheck coming in (her words!)
  • SSDD over here. More vaccines today at work. My mom got her second shot yesterday! She got Pfizer. So hopefully in two weeks we can meet up for the first time in almost 8 months. Maybe we can even do something with Grandma for Mother’s Day.

Otherwise not too much going on. I kind of forgot about my massage subscription and I was going to cancel it but I have seven credits! So there’s a lot of facials and massages in my future for the next few months. I guess it works out right before vacation, lol. Total FWP but it is honestly a big time commitment and I am struggling to fit it into my schedule. I’m eye rolling at myself for that statement.

I’m on a rampage spring cleaning kick at home and at work. I don’t know why everyone thinks every time I clean and organize my office I’m quitting. Lol. The clinic is getting messy everyone, time to spruce it up.

  • So we've been really slacking on some stuff BK doing, and now we're trying to just catch up.

One thing is stairs. We learned BK can actually do it - step by step - going up and down! As long as we hold a hand because she seems to be too short for the railing.
And we've been trying to teach her that nap/bed to go upstairs herself. Which we generally carried her, but my back went completely fucked not long ago so carrying her hurt - and then I realized how foolish I was for carrying her .... *face palm*

Our current task is getting herself dressed. She's mostly got it except for pulling shirt on over her head. Off is fine. Pants are hit and miss. Sometimes she mermaids herself but that may be pants tbh.

Who has tips to put ON the shirt?
  • A random funny from my work.  My work e-mail address has my name as Jennifer.  Most people call me Jenny.  But I don't mind either.  However, I don't usually go by "Jen".  Though that's totally fine also.

Someone I don't usually interact with addressed me as "Jen" in an e-mail yesterday.  It's become a long and involved e-mail chain with about a dozen people.  I assume taking his cue, everyone is now calling me "Jen" on it.

Since I'm not used to it, there is a miniscule fraction of a second where I make the connection of "Oh, that's me!", lol.

lol! People don't often refer to me as my nickname - always legal name.
Sometimes I get nickname or derivative of my name {one of the common misunderstood names I have} and when I see those, it also gives me a "oh wait ... that's me" lmao

Vent: Chiquita ate one of my Easter chocolate eggs.    It was a GROWN UP egg with pretzel and potato chip pieces in it and it was in my office and it was MINE.  Now it's gone.

DH tried to tell me that I have birthday chocolate I can eat and in my PMS-induced rage I told him why that is NOT the acceptable answer.
I thought you meant "grown up" like liquor chocolate.

    Still not good but omg

No I mean that the egg was just different from what the kids got and purposely bought with the taste of DH and my tastes in mind.

    I thought the same!
  • It was a peanut butter pretzel potato chip egg.  And it was $2.25 for one.

And it was going to be MINE.  Clearly it's not that grown up since she ate it and if it had alcohol in it I would have been really clear that they can't eat something that'll get them intoxicated.

  • well now I want one of these fancy eggs
  • Life is fine, mostly ... just boring. I'm doing (or supposed to be doing) bookkeeping and I can't focus on it today.

  • I had a hectic morning but I got a bunch of stuff off my plate and am now lacking motivation to do anything else. I have come to the conclusion that I need to talk to H about possibly putting a halt to house hunting. It has been so stressful and I really can't see a light right now. I think we should make a game plan as if we are going to stay in our current home for the next year or two. One option I want to explore is seeing if a friend of ours who has a son at the elementary school and lives walking distance could take our daughter in the morning if we stay here. I would much rather pay her than before/after school program.

@banana468 That's definitely a bummer and obviously she shouldn't take things that aren't hers but have you thought about getting a good hiding spot?My mom was a master at hiding her stash. To this day I STILL don't know. Lol. But she has a crazy sweet tooth and I know she has one. I've seen the idea to do frozen veggie bags in the freezer or tampon boxes.
  • @banana468 I now understand your anger. That looks good :O
  • @banana468 I thought it was either liquor filled or penis shaped, lol. I am sorry she ate your egg. I once practically assaulted my sister because (I thought) she ate my Ben and Jerry's so I feel you.
  • I’d be real annoyed too @banana468
  • I am also marveling at the level of hangriness I have.  It is BAD.

  • I have a webinar to attend in 20 min but I also want to go lay down bc I'm exhausted between my allergies/sickness and being up half the night. I'm not one to nap much but i have a feeling if I go lay down to listen to the webinar I won't stay awake.
