I am writing this review hoping that someone will find it helpful.
Yesterday I took my mom to the Nordstroms wedding department to help find her mother of the bride dress for the wedding. It was an excellent experience.
Let me give you a little history on my mom first, the past 2 years have been very rough on our family. Her health has not been good and we have actually lost her twice but they were able to revive her. She is currently waiting to have surgery for a defibrillator and is wearing a defibrillator vest. She wanted to wait until after the surgery to try on the dress but the doctor still hadn't scheduled it. Then she had a fall last week and cracked her elbow and has 2 black eyes. She has been very down on herself and I want her to feel as comfortable, and beautiful, and stress free as possible on my wedding day.
My wedding day is April 28th this year (25 days away!) so we are running out of time to get something in time. Finally this weekend she agreed to look. We went to Alfred Angelo because she saw something online she might like. They said they would not be able to order anything in time even with rushed shipping. And even with that my mom wasn't sure she liked it any more. She hasn't worn a dress since I was little.
She was really bummed and most bridal places were not open for Sunday then i mentioned to her Nordstroms wedding department. So Sunday around noon we went up there (they actually open at 11 on sundays but we didn't know that). We did not have an appointment but that didn't matter.
The ladies there were so helpful and nice. They first entered us in the computer, then asked my mom what her concerns were with certain styles and what colors she did not like. She feels her weight is very undistributed and doesn't like the way clothes fit her. She also wants something with a modest neckline that will cover her previous heart surgery scar.
The ladies that worked there had us go in the back and sit, and they brought dresses to us that they thought would work. My mom also wanted to be re-fitted for a bra because she didn't feel like she was wearing the right size. They brought the bra lady to us. We didn't have to leave the dressing area at all.
My mom left that day after purchasing 2 new dresses, and 3 new bras. One dress for the rehearsal dinner and one for the wedding. I have never seen my mom in these types of dresses, she looked amazing! And she was happier in these than I have seen her look about many of her clothes.
Plus, the dress you order arrives at your house in a week. And they told us if she has the surgery soon, we can wait up till 4 days before the wedding and they can do rush altering for us if we need to wait on altering. They guarantee all their work or they will get you a enw dress.
The ladies that work there really enjoy their job & it shows.
I love my mom so much and it has been rough these past few years and I am so blessed that she will be at my wedding.
