Mine went better than expected but still a lot of anxiety and uncertainty because of stuff going on.

We host a big fireworks thing for the neighborhood Saturday - my H and the guy across the street do a 20 min fireworks show to music. We used to have cookouts/parties at our houses although ours has died down over the years so just a few friends. But they have a ton and since B was here for the first time (awake) he went over there to play with their kids and stuff and had a blast. He stayed up for his first fireworks and enjoyed it though got bored after about 2 songs.

Sunday took him to my parents and I got to have time with friends. A house popped up so they met me at the house and then we went to my friend's parents' house for pool time. I loved the inside of the house but the neighborhood - and especially the next door neighbor's house - made me not like it. Still searching.

Trying to get back to the grind today because I'm still drowning with work stuff. Need to buckle down and really try to knock a ton out this week so then we have 2 weeks to chase clients down for stuff.
  • @STARMOON44, Congrats on your dance competitions!

Did both a Walmart pick-up and a trip to Sam's in the beginning of the weekend.  Made a big payment to my HELOC (yay).  But mostly just lounging around.  It was great!

My H had to work yesterday, so I even got an extremely rare day when I was home by myself.  Don't get me wrong, I like spending time with my H.  But it's so nice to have some time to myself, once in awhile.

  • I see those New England/Canada cruises all the time @MNNEBride, those look fantastic.  That and Alaska would be my next ones. Your weekend sounds fun!

  • We did Alaska in 2019 - it was beautiful!

  • Our weekend was pretty average, even though we were finishing up our isolation. I have felt like poop for what seems like weeks so I don't want to do anything anyway.

    Sorry about the house @kvruns
Congratulations on your dance wins! @STARMOON44
  • It’s hot and muggy here and back at work. Work is fine, busy. There’s some drama my Mom had with my sister and her husband- I’m trying to stay so far out of that, but my Mom was really upset this morning. Ugh.

    @STARMOON44, that’s awesome!!
  • The weekend was...a weekend.  I did get my downtime, but there's a lot going on with the kiddo and FIL is...who he is and he's exhausting most of the time.

Friday, I picked up my friend L's son from daycare because I'm her pinch hitter if she or our friend M can't get him.  She stayed for dinner with me as DH was off helping FIL with a project.

DH helped FIL install gates and a back fence at his house so the dogs can go out without escaping.  We had FIL, the kiddo, and kiddo's BFF (who we've known since he was 4) over for dinner on Saturday.

On the 4th we went to our friend L's mom's house.  L is half-Mexican (mom's side) and her whole family was there.  I got to meet all her aunts and uncles and eat amazing food, have one of the best margaritas I've ever had, and watch all the dancing.  A couple of our other friends were there too, so conversation was nice.  I was the DD, so the night felt longer than it normally would...lol.

I was off yesterday and alone most of the day.  DH took DefConn to overnight camp and stayed the night last night.  I had dinner with my dad. Of course, I stayed up too late and didn't sleep well when I finally went to bed.

I have so much on my plate right now.  Some good, some challenging.  But it's all making me tired and some of it makes me a little anxious. I hope I get some sleep tonight and feel better about it all tomorrow.  I also think one on one time with DH will help too so we can talk some stuff out.

Congratulations @Casadena! Hope you’re feeling okay!
Yay for the dance wins @STARMOON44
Weekend was nice.  The kids had fun at my parents’ with their cousins, and on Sunday H and I were able to piece together and enjoyable holiday.  My daughters made it past bedtime for fireworks and enjoyed them.

    congrats @Casadena

amazing on the dance wins @STARMOON44 and even better with bosses on vacation

  • We had a jam-packed weekend and I don’t think I ever even sat down. Friday, we got out early so I ran to the store and then home to catch up on some laundry/cleaning. I picked the kids up and then went to the park. Called Husband and he decided to meet us there and grab dinner at a local burger place. We went home and H wanted a fire so we invited some friends over for some smore’s.

Saturday I did a pre-clean (picked everything up and vacuumed In anticipation of Mondays deep-clean. Then we took the kids over to the in-laws to swim and we gilled out. Sunday we were supposed to meet my childhood friend at the zoo but she bailed last minute. She has done that too me a few times and I am wondering if it s time to stop putting effort in to that relationship. We still took the kids to the zoo and had a nice time but I was annoyed. I grilled out some chicken that night and then we took the kids to fireworks. I was super-prepared and brought glowsticks/sparklers/snacks so they had a good time and fell asleep on the way home.

Monday my parents were supposed to watch the kids while me and my mil did a deep-clean but my mom got sick and cancelled Sunday. Luckily, my SIL saved the day and came up for a few hours and took the kids to a movie so we were able to get most of it done.
  • Congratulations, @Casadena! I can't wait to see pics.

We had a good weekend. I was wiped out Friday, so we ate leftovers and watched a movie on the couch. Saturday we did a ton of yardwork. We cleared a spot where I want to build a second sitting area in front of the deck, and took out a ton of vines. There's a small tree that we want to take out and move, but I think we're going to need help with that. I ran some errands, then we had a nice dinner, watched a game, and then caught a few fireworks from the deck.

Sunday we went river tubing. The river was crowded, but it was a perfect day for it. I got some sun without getting burnt. Then hosted a little cook out that night. Yesterday we had lunch with some friends, went shopping, and then did a mountain of laundry.

Today has been a whole other thing. I logged into my computer at 7:45 this morning and everything was already on fire. I don't know why, but it seems like short weeks always have the biggest problems. Blerg.
  • Yay @casadena!! Hope you’re all feeling well!
  • I feel hungover but did NOT drink nearly what I should have.

Had a great weekend although MIL was a piece of work.  We had the day planned to be at the marina all afternoon.  DH and I packed the car and I mean PACKED it full of food, boat cushions, drinks, coolers, and then ran to the store for the lobsters and steamers.  We said "we will plan to be at the marina all day for swimming, boating, with photos at 7."

Somehow MIL took that to mean that we would show up and eat dinner at 2, had no other meal planned for later and then everyone that was staying would go back to her house to change.  Why they'd go back is beyond us.  The marina has full mens and women's rooms with showers, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

So at 2 when it was clear that with TONS of chips and appetizers MIL didn't have a real "lunch" so she want home for a couple hours while DH took his brother and his sons on the boat.    Ultimately all was fine but we just shake our heads that MIL has this massive need to be in control but she gets anxious before any major event, doesn't actually DO anything and stomps when things don't go according to the idea she had in her head and it's all because her ideas sucked and she doesn't put in the effort.  I'm sure DH and I will hear about the event when BIL and SIL and their kids go back this weekend.  I will put up with no bullshit.

  • Congrats @Casadena

    @STARMOON44 awesome on the wins!

I had a really fun weekend. Thankfully sold a bunch of stuff I didn't need on FB marketplace over the weekend. Went to my mom and dad's for dinner Saturday. Went to my SIL's parent's house for a BBQ Sunday. And had a nice lazy day off on Monday.
  • Congratulations @Casadena, can't wait to see pictures. Congratulations @STARMOON44, H and I ballroom dance but I can't stand to dance in front of people in a competition. @kvruns sorry about the house.

I'm in Chicago until Thursday. The weekend was pretty low key. SIL grilled out on Sunday. They went out for drinks on Saturday night after getting the twins to bed so I was just in charge of the baby. I had my bi-weekly Zoom call with university friends so they got to see him until he went to bed. DS2 is coming home this weekend so we can watch Black Widow together (Marvel is kind of our thing). After he goes back to Ohio, I need to do a good house cleaning because we are off to DS1's the next weekend to take them stuff we've been storing. While we are there we are going to take them sofa shopping. We told them we would buy them a piece of furniture as a wedding present but they wanted to wait until they were in a house of their own before picking one out - they've been married almost 4 years!

It's stinking hot so I've been walking outside early in the morning to beat the heat. I think tomorrow I'll use DD's Peloton if we can work out the timing (while boys are napping and she isn't using it). If not, I'll be back outside walking. Thankfully it is suppose to be a little cooler this weekend.
  • Congrats @Casadena, glad it was a smooth delivery.
@ILoveBeachMusic it is stinking hot here.  I went for a walk on my lunch IN A COVERED parking garage and came back all sweaty. Glad I got a walk in!
