Bride on a Budget

My fiance and I are looking to get married in Spring of 2012 and have a budget of $3000 for the entire wedding. We are looking for a venue or party hall in Houston that we can hold 250 people in to have both the ceremony and the reception in. Being that our budget is so small, I am only trying to spend about $1,000 on the venue itself. I definitely want to have the wedding inside being that we are in Houston and our weather is never predictable, I am not having any luck though. Please, if anyone knows of any places inside where we can  have the wedding at, please give me the information.

Sincerely,
A desperate Bride

Hi! You might get more help from your local board, since this one is international.

What part of town are you looking into?

First I would suggest that you seriously think about a Friday or Sunday wedding. These will be your best bet in order to stay in your budget. Also, look for a venue where you can bring in your own food/vendors. That way you have 100% control over the cost of everything from food to cake, from lighting to DJs. It will make it more difficult to plan, but will help you stay within your budget.

Some places that can help keep your venue budget around 1,000 would be:
    • The Heights Firestation

    • The Lyceum

    • Raven Lodge - Huntsville State Park

Those are just my suggestions but I am sure the other ladies will have several others. Good luck!
And now we are as one

You may need to look at your guestlist. We are having 100-120 and we're not even doing a seated dinner. For catering alone we're looking to spend $1,000+
That being said, I would rec. the heights fire station as well. We looked there and it's very cute and vintage.
