Hip Venues That Aren't Formal?

I'm looking for a venue to hold 120 that isn't stuff, but is hip and I can't find much of anything. Any suggestions? I like the feel of a backyard wedding, but would want an indoor option. Not into B&B's loaded with antiques or formal banquet halls.

Google Houston reception venue--I saw tons that sound like you might like them, but I don't remember what they were all called.

Have you looked into museums or art galleries?

    I would second the Gallery.

The Patio on Mercer could be a good option.

Cullen's in Pasadena was built in 2008, so it is very modern and definitely isn't the typical banquet hall kind of place.

Also, check out the Heights Firestation, and also possibly Haak Winery in Santa Fe? Those are all kind of non-traditional wedding reception places.

And now we are as one

Have you looked into the Alden Hotel? it's beautiful, hip, and has an outdoors feel because it has windows on the roof and the reception area looks like a tent with drapery.

Bammel is actually my top pic, I'm going to look at it this week. Is the layout good for 120? I can't tell from the photos. It looks gorgeous though, esp. for Houston.

I have seen weddings there that do about 200, but that entails tables to be setup outside. It's VERY quaint and unique. I am so happy with it. I took additional photos of it after I booked, if you want them I can email them to you?

I plan on printing them out at 8x11 then drawing on them for planning purposes. LOL

How funny! We're booked at Bammel the week after you, I'm really excited. Carrie recommended the same caterer and I found out she used to be vegan so I'm very hopeful.
