Walking down the aisle

I've been struggling with ways to include my brother in my wedding.  He is very important in my life and I want to see what other people think about my father and brother walking me down the aisle.  My sisters think it's weird and don't fully support it however, it is something that has been on my mind for a while.  I think it's good, but what are other people's ideas, or is there another good way to include him?

Can he not stand up with you in your bridal party? Wedding parties don't have to be gender-specific. What are you wanting to convey by having your brother walk you down the aisle?

Could you have him as a bridesman? Or would your FI consider having him as a groomsman? Or, if he is willing, ask him to do a reading. I was a reader at the wedding of one of my brothers and I thought it was an honor.

If you and your FI like the idea, and your brother is on board with it, no one else's opinion matters.  The other option is to have your brother escort your mom up the aisle.  She is the last to be processed up before you, so the impact of /honor/importance would still be made.
