Super rainy dreary Monday here. This is a short week for me, we are closed Friday!

How was everyone's weekends?

We had a busy weekend. Took my oldest to gymnastics then ran errands on Saturday, followed by laundry and house cleaning. Sunday we met our friend and his kids for breakfast and a matinee. Got a lot of little projects done and got outside a little bit.

I can not wait for some nicer weather!

I am looking forward to May. We have a weekend trip planned to a local indoor water park and it's our anniversary. I am excited about H's gift this year. We loosely follow traditional anniversary gifts and 8 years is bronze. I was searching on amazon and came across a bronze-looking cryptex. I made up some clues for him to get the code and will hide the big gift inside-tickets to a murder mystery event on a train! Tickets are for Friday the 13th. I am very pleased with myself this year. Lol

Re: Monday, Monday

  • Had a nice lowkey weekend. Watched the 20/20 Friday night about Michelle Carter. I had forgotten a lot of the details about it, and just..wow. I'm going to watch the Hulu series this week.
Saturday I cleaned out my car that desperately needed it. So.Much.Dog.Hair. We vegged the rest of the day since the weather was so crappy.

N left for his vision quest Sunday morning and I totally had a hilarious "step-mom-like" moment where the kids were still there and I wanted to go out and get Wendy's. And I didn't want to come back with only food for myself. But like, food for 3 other people makes it $$$$. (there was more than enough food in the house, I just had an intense craving for a burger, fries and a frosty). So I went and ate in my car. And by the time I got back, they had left to go back to their mom's. I spent the rest of the day cleaning, doing laundry and catching up on my housewives shows.
  • Weekend was ok.
Friday I stayed home because it felt like someone hit a me with a 2x4 - sinus infection.

Saturday I was still recouping but did groceries. It was better enough I wasn't cringing to put on sunglasses lol

Sunday BK woke up SCREAMING! Ended up she had to pee and didn't want to pee her diaper. M said it took a bit for her to actually pee, but probably she was clenching and upset.
So I purchased a pee pad for her bed. We're going to also put a potty in her room so she doesn't have to wait either.
Her door is latched so she doesn't leave but I know we have MAYBE a year before we need to remove it. I cannot close her door or else her room gets stuffy a.f - the airflow in our house is not good.
We figure by the time the spare room is fixed up, we'll feel more comfortable with her not having a latch on her door. M isn't a fan of the gate at the stairs, but she hasn't tried to just go yet.

BK forgot today was preschool, and she wanted to go to the park first thing lol
No ma'am, we are going to preschool. So I asked my mum if maybe it could be a park day after pick up.

Had a nice enough weekend- STBXH got belligerently drunk sat night which sucked, but otherwise some nice family time and some errands completed.  Today is my Wednesday, we have a three-day week before spring/Easter break, so kind of in watching-the-clock mode.

I have the rest of the workweek off!  Yay.  I have some bs training today.  It’s all about the stuff I do on a daily basis.  Plus, the person who put the slides together and is presenting it used to be in my position. She created my slides for me but had me go through them for a 2nd eye anyway. I’m making sure my phone is charged because I have a feeling I’m turning off the camera and playing on that throughout it.

The wedding I went to was very lovely. I had fun with my old boss and his wife and my new boss. The only thing was the vegetable lasagna I had ordered was undercooked and the sauce was really salty, so I didn’t eat it.  I had a spring roll, a bacon wrapped date, 3 mushroom ravioli, some lettuce with a block of blue cheee (yum!) and 1/2 a slice of cake. I drank a lot.  Enough drinks coupled with barley any food to make me actually think I can dance.  Spoiler Alert: I cannot dance.

@climbingsingle, that’s exactly what I would have done. Is he only gone till tomorrow?
@Jstump2, sounds like a great gift!

    He's actually gone until Friday!

Hey!  Weekend was OK.  Tons of downtime.

I got to watch BIL's retirement ceremony via FB live.  That and all the pics made me a little sad I hadn't bitten the bullet and just went with DH, but it was really all right because DH about lost his mind having to travel back with FIL yesterday.  Poor DH was kind of out of sorts this morning.  He's a little stressed about all.the.things.  Also, I got hear about DH's aunt's abhorrent behavior that also made me OK with not being there.

I ended up going to my work party for a little bit on Saturday.  My sister is just not the same as DH and plus, everyone kept asking me where DH was.  But I did get a pic with my other two training class 'survivors'.  We've been the final 3 for years, but after over 20 years it was time to get a pic.

The rest of the weekend was pretty low-key.  I have been obsessed with tiktok hair tutorials, but my hands and hair just can't cooperate.  I spent 2+ hours trying to do my hair like a couple of them and ended having to wash and redo my hair.  It turned out cute, and in a style that was in my wheelhouse.  Damn tiktokkers making me feel old and feeble. LOL

I took cash out of the bank on Saturday for tips and the deducted it twice from my account.  I called the bank and they have to do some sort of dispute process.  The money should be returned to my account, but it's annoying it happened.  Also, like, pull the tape?  Plus I swear I cleared myself before I left the machine, but hopefully my account wasn't still up when the car behind me pulled up.  However, I was sitting there at least 30 secs after taking my cash because I was putting my (evening) purse back together, so the likelihood of my account still being accessible was probably low since the machine turns over pretty quickly once you're done. It's just ugh.  It's not a make-or-break amount of cash, but it's still my money damn it.

We watched a few episodes of  "Is It Cake?" which is a super fun and cute show.  I like it better than "Nailed It!", which was DefConn's and my fave baking show to watch. I also watched Jerrod Carmichael's stand-up special, "Rothaniel" on HBOMax and it was so good.  He's a great storyteller.
  • Baby is sick (still), I’m sick now, MIL is sick. Thank gods he tested negative at the pediatrician this morning so this is just a regular daycare cold. I feel awful and I’m under 3 blankets and still cold. Im WFH but going to call out the rest of the day and sleep.

Can we seriously catch a break soon?? One of us has been sick for the last month.
  • Oh no @charlotte989875.  Y'all do need a break.  :(
  • Friday! That’s a long time @climbingsingle
Glad you’re feeling better @STARMOON44. Take this time they’re giving you to recoupe!
@mrsconn23 that is annoying.  Also my worst fear is me not logging out and someone accessing it (but if it’s an exact dup out - more like a computer glitch in your case), same as gas stations.  I have an irrational fear I never ended that transaction right either and person behind me gets free gas.  Lol.

Thank you! I mean I’m super thankful it’s not Covid again but it really sucks.

Happy birthday @ILoveBeachMusic! Ugh healing vibes @charlotte989875
  • @STARMOON44, I'm glad the weekend gave you a chance to rest and recuperate and that you are feeling better.

@ILoveBeachMusic, happy birthday!  I'm glad there was good progress on the bathroom reno.

Mondays are the worst for me.  I can never get to bed early enough on Sunday night because I'm not tired, just like what happened last night, so I'm trying to coast on only 5 hours of sleep.

I'm supposed to be doing a dinner mystery shop tonight, but my H ended up having a heavy day and said he can't go.  I don't want to go by myself and am not sure if I could anyway, so I'm waiting on my the MS company to give me the green light to do it tomorrow.  Crossing fingers on that.

I also have Friday off, which means my half-day is pushed to Thursday.  It's giving me motivation to just get through the short week, lol.

  • Happy birthday @ILoveBeachMusic!!

Overall a mostly good weekend. Hiked on Saturday then went out to dinner with my parents. However right before dinner I had the worst fall down the stairs I’ve had in years. Of course when I have zero insurance. I basically did the splits down five stairs and pulled my quad pretty good. When it happened and yesterday I could barely flex at the hip which was pretty worrisome. It’s a little better today. Just a lot of rest and icing is all I can do for now. I also have terrible scrapes up my shin and knee that don’t feel great. But yesterday H and I had a really nice day. We had some drinks and watched Velocipastor on Prime which was hilariously beyond awful. H’s server crashed at work so he’s home early today which is nice for me.

  • @VarunaTT! That sounds so fun.  You must sing well.  I wish people would pay me to sing.  They don’t.  They pay me to stop.
Ooof @levioosa. Sounds painful.  Is there benefit to go on your H’s insurance if that’s an option? Even temporily?
    happy birthday @ILoveBeachMusic, enjoy it

  • @CharmedPam we’re looking into it but I don’t think it will be financially feasible. His work insurance is shit and I think it’s going to be $600-$800 to add me on per month.

  • @short+sassy I just sent you a PM for some advice.  and @CharmedPam you're accidentally on it, b/c I just pulled up an old one and didn't realize you were on it as well.  Sorry.

    Damn. That sucks.

I’m sorry you fell, that’s awful. You too could use a break these days.

I’m going to be real with you.  I haven’t been in my PM inbox in over a year lol. So I see why you forgot I was even on it!

That's what I got last year!  Mine was for copper.  If it's the same one, it is really nice.I hope he likes it!

  • @ILoveBeachMusic Happy Birthday!  I hope that you had fun today, even if your birthday did fall on a Monday.

@leviosaa Yikes, that sounds painful.  Hopefully you heal up quick.

I got my new rabbit this weekend, so that was the main highlight.  I started deep cleaning my house for Easter since we are hosting.  I had to buy a ham, because I do love ham, but goodness has meat gone up a lot!  I don't usually buy huge amounts of meat, so this was my first sticker shock since meat has gone up.  I wish I could save money by having a farm and raising my own meat, but inevitably I'd get attached and not want to butcher the animals I raised for meat, so that would end up more expensive anyways.

  • Thank you for the birthday wishes y'all. It was a low key but good day.
  • Happy Monday!  Took the kids to confession and I heard Chiquito say his Our Father.   Went home to have dinner with our "squeaky clean" souls.
