Whew, we're late!
I don't really have anything. I crashed out early last night and forced myself out of bed to work out. I feel better when I do it and I know it's helping with some of these long term covid things, so I just need to get back to the routine.
So Diva II attorney? He's had a harsh reality check I think. I do have some things left with him and I utterly forgot something I said I'd do. I apologized profusely and fast tracked it. When I took it to him to sign, I apologized again (I felt bad b/c it wasn't retaliatory on my part, I genuinely lost track of it). He said, "No worries. Now that I'm having to do all of this stuff, I understand a lot better what you are going through." So, when I'm on track with working out, I usually get here around 7. He stopped by and asked why I was here to early. I told him and he said, "Do you clock in?" I said, oh hell yeah, I don't work for free. He said someone else had complained to him they got in trouble for working overtime. I said, "I don't think they're in a position to tell me what to do, at all". He just laughed and said, That's true. So maybe it can be mended over time...still not right now.
Otherwise, SSDD. Just putting in time until the weekend. I might try and get a float in this weekend, but I'm pretty unsure with the allergies.

Re: Wednesday
G got to home last night, they think just a virus - his COVD and flu was negative and not expecting anything in the blood cultures. We did get a message that someone in his classroom has COVID though so he will be home with H through Monday at least.
My boss keeps scheduling in office meetings with outside investors on my WFH days and i'm super annoyed about it. I know he doesn't totally control it and I can definitely come into the office (and probably would anyway) but still. It also means i have to suit up instead of wear jeans and skip lunch workouts.
I am really PO'ed that I let Norwegian talk me into booking my flight for me. I might have been able to find a better deal for myself, but their rate for r/t airfare was around $700, and that included bringing me from the ship to the airport, at the end of my trip. Plus, if anything happens and the ship is so late that I miss my flight, they will take care of it. That price wasn't too bad, so I gave them the go ahead to book it for me.
But what I wasn't thinking about is, when some rando is booking my airfare, they don't care or know my preferences. It's been on my to-do list, so I finally called the airlines last night to make sure I have a window seat for the the international portions of my flight. I didn't. For EITHER ONE. Only middle seats. GTFO.
I asked the airlines if I could change to a window seat. Preferably for no cost, but wouldn't mind paying a small fee, if I needed to. I'm thinking $25 or $50, for each international portion. Oh, but no. Fortunately, they did have window seats available. But they were $75 more for my outbound trip and $94 more for the inbound one. Plus, because I was not the one who had booked directly with them, there was an additional $50 surcharge to change the seats. Oddly enough, Norwegian could have made those changes for me for no additional charge. And I debated calling them today, have them do it, and save the $50. But I didn't trust them to do it right...because they're the AHs who caused this expensive problem to begin with...and there was no guarantee the seats would still be available and the price wouldn't change.
I went ahead and gave the airline the okay, but that added $216 to my airfare. That's a lot! It's adding 30% more to my original airfare. Just to change my seats. And there is not a GD thing special about them. It is still Economy tickets. I definitely could have found a cheaper flight myself, with window seats, now that the fight is $900.
Moral of the story, don't trust other people/companies to book your flights.
One bright side is I found out I can bring one checked bag, for no additional cost. Something else I needed to ask the airlines directly because Norwegian couldn't be bothered to tell me that, when they e-mailed me the flight info.
I have a massage this afternoon. My shoulders and back are still messed up from our trip (flying and uncomfortable pillows). Tomorrow we leave for H's reunion. On our way home we are stopping to see DS1 and DIL. We haven't seen them since Christmas. They never come here except for the holidays. We will stop to see them if we are on our way home from Pennsylvania. DIL's birthday was while we were gone so I bought her some things in Switzerland/Italy. I'm taking those along with us this weekend.
@VarunaTT, that’s great that diva is treating you better
@Casadena, I’m hoping those symptoms diminish for G. Glad it’s not covid
i’m having a hard time with my lawn service. I scheduled it for the week of the 27th. He kept on postponing and the service has a 6” grass length or higher double fee rule. But I don’’t think I have to pay that if he’s over 1.5 weeks late. Of course it will be over 6”. I complained yesterday to the service and they had someone new come out. So I agree new dude should get the 2x fee.. but it shouldn’t be on me. The service should eat that cost. Or charge the guy who should have come out almost 2 weeks ago a cancellation fee or something? So annoying.
other than that SSDD here. I think “Seeking sisterwife” is replacing “90 day fiance” for me on the WTF am I watching?” Level. The story lines on this show!
And to top it all off the IRS didn’t take out my payment last month and I’m stressed they’ll either take it out as a double payment, or not take it out at all and then penalize me. I tried calling and they said there was a high call volume and they hung up on me. Tried paying online through my account and for some reason they had linked up my 2018 return (for which I owed $0 even at the time, and also, why) to count the payments towards.
This week is crawling. It's just one of those weeks but I'm busy each day after work- tonight it's the kids' counseling and then a school orientation at 7, tomorrow it's a work thing I have to be at at 4:30 and then a pta meeting at 7. Etc. I'm thankful the school year is winding down even if it means more time around stbxh (though I'm debating moving the kids and me in with my parents, I have the official paperwork stating it's not kidnapping the kids if I do, stbxh and I are officially cleared to live apart). Just another thing to think about.
Boo on all that @levioosa. And ugh on the travel bs @short+sassy.
Day 1 bajillion of being tired. We had another big dinner last night with a houseful of people. SIL stayed the night because she came to pick up my nephews (they'd been here since Friday). SIL, BIL, and fam went to BIL's parents to have dinner tonight. So yay quiet house for a few hours BIL and SIL are heading home tomorrow. My nieces and niece's BF are leaving this weekend.
I'm twitchy and overstimulated with this many people around for this long. But they are the best houseguests. Everyone pitches in and helps out. SIL is good at directing the kids to clean up and not leave a trail of mess everywhere. I just really need another wing on my house to have this many people here all the time. LOL
DH's big interview is tomorrow afternoon.
It was originally a direct flight. Then they cancelled, not just our flight, but that whole route. I think we were only a couple weeks out, at that point. They totally rebooked both ends of the trip. The flight coming back was a similar choice and was okay by us.
But the one going out was BSC. We had two layovers. NOLA and NYC just aren't far enough apart for that kind of noise. It's only about a 3.5-hour flight, when it's direct. And we arrived 7 hours later than our original flight. 11PM instead of 4PM. I think our total travel time was about 12 hours.
In less than 10 minutes, I found much better options that were also much closer to our original itinerary. No idea what they were thinking, though it was probably an automated computer thing. Fortunately, I could just make the changes myself, when I logged into their website. And only one layover, so our total travel time was cut down to 6-7 hours.
I also got lucky. There were two equally okay options for the flight out. One of them had the layover in ATL and the other one had it in Houston. I opted for the ATL one. The day before we flew out, there was a tropical storm descending on Houston. They closed the airport and I think it stayed closed for another two days.
I panick-checked the tickets. Me: "I'm pretty sure the layover is in ATL. Gotta check. Gotta check to make sure. Okay, good. Phew!"
@ei34, if you think moving will keep your sanity, do it! You’ll get the house right? Or is that not decided yet?
Relatively speaking, I haven't even flown that much in my life. But have had some bad experiences.
My checked bag got lost once. Never to be found. Even though I had my luggage tag and also a piece of paper inside the suitcase with my name, address, and phone number.
I had a cancelled flight in CA, that happened after I had already arrived at the airport. It took me two extra days and hours on the phone, to get back home.
That could be the next chunk of Jurassic Park movies. The dinosaurs develop time travel and potentially change world events.
But the big question is, would they fight for the US or the British?
