Hoping everyone has some fun and/or relaxing plans lined up for the weekend!

We have...no real plans.  Woot!  LOL  We are probably doing a Costco run tonight.  Other than that, no clue.  A friend hit me up and said they were going to be in town, so we may meet up with them, but IDK their schedule or anything. 

I have a gnarly, painful scab on my forehead from a zit situation.  I feel like the amount of stress I've been hoarding and my routine change made it worse than normal.  I hope it's better by the end of the weekend.

Our town is bringing back its annual festival tomorrow.  It closes a street with vendors, a carnival at a local church and fireworks at 9.  If the weather holds then we may try to watch the fireworks by boat.

Sunday I'm sub cantoring.  I need to practice!

No big plans here.  We are going to see BIL tomorrow as he's recuperating from knee surgery.  Sunday is church and probably laundry and such to prepare for the week.

Tonight is grocery pick up and I'm gonna try to get my brows waxed while I'm in the area.
Tomorrow BK goes to my mum's because it's finally Hamilton!
This was 1 of the 2 shows I was suppose to see in 2020 before the panormama happened. {the other show they canceled}

Since show isn't until late and BK will likely go early to my mum's, I'm taking Matt for a belated sushi meal for his bday that was yesterday.
When BK is away, we always get food she can't have. It sucks we can't have her try stuff but the cross contamination risk is too high 

Good news is we've been wanting to try her in kayak or canoe, but we're so hesitant.
M went fishing yesterday at a different spot, and he's said that has a rental of canoes/kayaks that include life jackets. I'd rather test her out as a rental instead of buying one - they aren't cheap and with how she grows, we'd likely need a new one yearly.
If she's going to enjoy it, I don't mind. If she doesn't enjoy it, I don't wanna waste my money.
Plus this new place is more kid friendly than where we've been going. Better spots for BK to fish, playground and lake

H is gone for the weekend so it’s me and baby M. We’re going to dinner at SILs tonight with MIL (FIL and BIL are also at camp with H) so we’re getting the kids together. 

Our town claims to be the place where hamburgers were founded and we have “Burger Fest”, tomorrow is the first time in 2 years it’s been held so I’m taking Baby M tomorrow. We live right in the village so we can walk around in the morning, head back for nap and go again in the afternoon.

This week has felt so long and this day is dragging. 

Nothing planned until Sunday, which is my nephew's christening! I'll also be seeing a lot of my extended family that I haven't seen in a while so I'm very excited.

Claiming "wings", I can understand.  But now you all are claiming hamburgers too!  I don't know about that.  I've got my eye on you, Buffalo, lol.

My H and I are going to see the Nefertari exhibit at NOMA.  We're going to (hopefully) organize our bathroom pantry on Sunday.  Assuming I get the shelving/boxes.

But the big, bad news is I'm moving to hated, hated cube room.  Not only that.  But I also found out today that I'm going to the exact same cube that I came from about a year ago.  Which is one of the worst cubes on this entire floor.  It's across from the printer and the plotter.  So there is the constant, annoying noises from those machines.  There is hardly any privacy.  You can't even have a short conversation on the phone, without a bunch of people hearing it.

More of a rant:

Oh, but wait.  As if all of this isn't bad enough.  I also found out that a fairly new hire...who is a contractor, not even an employee...was moved to one of the only offices in that room.  He was already in a cube in that room.  But they moved him!  While putting ME in a s**t cube, even though I was moving anyway.

He worked here previously, in Procurement.  The same department I'm in.  But that was 5ish years ago and I'd been the only person in this department for the whole time.  They brought him back just a few months ago.  Partially to help me, but he's also doing other things. 

So, let me get this straight.  I run the Procurement department, but he's the one who gets an office.  Wow.  He's also invited to meetings that I was never invited to.

On the one hand, I get that he has more "total" procurement experience than I do.  After all, he's in his 60s and has always worked in procurement, just not always at this company.  He also worked here a long time, though not recently, so he has a longer history than I do with the "old timers".  But he hasn't been here for the last FIVE years.  I HAVE.  I'm the one who's been doing all the procurement, plus other stuff...all this time...by myself.

One of the things that has always bothered me about this job is that, although my coworkers are great and nice to me, but...in actions...I feel like an unappreciated peon.  I can't tell you how many times there was something major that affected my department, but nobody bothered to tell me.

Stuff like, "Hey Jenny, can you run the MR-PO status report for project XYZ?"  Me, "What is project XYZ?  It's not in my database and I was never given a list of MRs for it."  Them:  "Oh, what?!?  PLEASE get that added to the database.  We need that report ASAP.  Hey, (to all the leads), please provide Jenny with a list of your MRs."

At any rate, now that this coworker is back, those "peon" feelings are coming in even stronger.

I also hate to say this.  But I feel like some of this is gender bias going on.  He's an older man with an air of authority.  I'm a younger woman (relatively speaking) who, tbh, has a more "roll with the punches" attitude and not an air of authority.

I like this coworker.  I don't blame him or mean anything against him.  But I am feeling very resentful.  There's a lot about this job I like.  That's why I've stayed.  However, these recent events have been a hard pill to swallow.  I also know there are other jobs out there where I'd be appreciated more and treated better.

That sucks, @short+sassy.  I'd be pissed too.  Is there someone you can raise this with?  Just the fact that you used to be there, and they moved you back - so inefficient, might as well just keep you where you are!

These festivals sound like fun!  The medieval festivals around here have opened up again, we've been to one for far this year, and there is another in two weeks and two in September.  We'll try to hit them all.  Ontario has a lot of medieval stuff.

I'm sanding cabinets.  Kitchen reno starts the second week of August.  It's coming up!  We've been trying to narrow down backsplash and countertops, but that could all change.

I’m so confused now.  Who invented the hamburger?!? Actually I always thought it was a European country? Who cares though. They’re delicious.  Or can be.  It’s hard to find a tasty one.

Friday was awesome for me.  Ghost tour with a bunch of cool meet up peoples.  And then today heading to the P’s. Actually my bro/SIL are in St. Louis (Hi @VarunaTT  👋🏼) near where I am (they live in a farmers town) because SIL was told she needed to see a specialist about her anemia so I may stop by their hotel and see my boys.
