Wedding Woes

Prudie day, right?

G's counts were good yesterday so we started his new chemo phase.  12 hour day at the hospital, but he was a champ.

I spilled coffee on myself in the car this morning and also can't decide if I want to workout at noon.  I want to want to.

Re: Prudie day, right?

  • @Casadena G's count is good, right? Long a.f day.
I personally wouldn't work out. Coffee spills just make me wanna say no to everything.
  • I did my home sleep study test last night.  It was...okay.  Having something up my nose was freaking unpleasant and I did wake up trying to take it out.  Hopefully this gets me some answers.  Dropped it off this morning.  Everyone was trying my last nerve this morning.  I've basically given myself permission to mess about until after lunch.  Then I need to force myself to focus, so I'll be using my browser blocker.

Watching the next episode of Sandman at lunch today.  No plans for tonight except making myself go home after work and taking care of myself.  I've self-sabotaged a bit the last few days and it's time to get back on track with things.
  • So glad his numbers were good enough to do treatment. Fingers crossed it all goes well @Casadena

When I have no motivation to run I tell myself to do it for 5 minutes and if I still don’t want to then I can quit. Usually I do a full workout but sometimes it still sucks and I quit after the 5 minutes.
  • BK lost sticker yesterday because she took off running into the road.
Luckily our place isn't a busy street - it's a side street and only cars that are on our road, are cars going to places on our street - but still.

She took awhile to settle at bedtime, but we expected that since she wanted a nap and we know often she doesn't burn enough energy if she naps and M is working all day.

BK is sleeping at grandma's tonight and honestly I'm glad for the break. It's just been a rough few days and feeling very chaotic. It's nice to take a breather sometimes and honestly I know it's a huge luxury to be able to have IL's or my mum want to and able to take her for sleepovers.
  • My sister has Covid, again. Her husband had it last week and she and my niece came to M’s party. They had taken tests before and were negative before the party. But now she’s sick. I know I should have insisted she not come but I didn’t. And now we’ve all potentially been exposed right before we go on vacation.
  • I'm here.  I had meetings all morning and have a break now.   I'll get Prudie up.  :)

    SSDD.  At least I'm home.
  • @MissKittyDanger running into the road is such a fear of mine. DS is a runner in general, his fav super hero is Flash. I love his confidence but I almost hope little DD has more chill.

@Casadena glad to hear G's count was good. I know you said it was a 3 year treatment process but is it going to be this full on for the entire time?

@charlotte989875 I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you guys.

@charlotte989875 I like that 5 min technique. I might steal it. I have been feeling extra ADHDy recently so I run a stop watch on my phone. That way I know it has only been 6 minutes since I last used it and I should just put it down again. It helps but sometimes I forget to restart it after a break and then it is like exercising without my watch on, lol.

Ssdd here. I am trying to find balance in my life and it is a constant struggle, self inflicted of course. Also I want to get good and day drunk and forget all my responsibilities for a bit.
  • @charlotte989875 fingers crossed for you.  I'm monitoring our symptoms here because we saw a family friend Saturday and she tested positive Tues.  The thought is that she was exposed Fri and likely not contagious and so far we do not have symptoms.  If we make it to Friday I'll consider that we're likely OK given the speed of the current variants.

I booked Chiquito's party and so far we have at least 3 friends that accepted the invitation.  We're doing a place that has an obstacle course/zip line in the trees and I think he's going to be super excited to do it.   It's the first friend birthday party for him even though he's turning 8.  Stupid Covid got in the way of other years so I am also optimistic that we're on the way back to being "normal".

I also reached out to the travel agent I used for Disney last year to quote a trip to Universal.  I'm 2/3 of the way through the first HP reading it at night to Chiquito and now that we're getting to the end it's going to be really exciting.  If we finish by the weekend we'll probably do a movie night with the kids.

And we also let out the surprise that in two weeks we're taking them to Legoland in NY.  I think they'll love it.
  • @charlotte989875, good luck!  I hope you all stay negative and won't have any issues with your vacation.

Busy day at work and I've been productive.  Perfect time for a Pruide break!

Costco scan day, when I get off work, so it's a long day.  Not much else going on.

  • @CharmedPam, good luck with Match!  You should come to New Orleans for Halloween!  It's a BIG holiday here.  We have a parade where they throw out beads and candy.  Lots of haunted places, year round.  Even our cemetaries are extra creepy.  We can't bury people in the ground because of the high water table.  So it's all above ground crypts.

  • @missJeanLouise this isn't new but we've been trying to stop it. Luckily it's never been into busy roads but still .... unfortunately she also thinks you're chasing her when you go to grab here *heavy eye roll*
  • SSDD here. I just finished a pretty tedious piece of work, so I'm celebrating with Prudie and costco trail mix. (The good kind with M&Ms). But I'd rather be day drinking with you, @missJeanLouise.

I had dinner with two of my oldest friends last night. BFF's parents are in the middle of some crazy shit after a car accident while traveling. Apparently, someone died and her dad was at fault and is being charged. I don't know any of the details, but her dad has always been a selfish asshole, so I'm assuming the worst.

The most exciting thing in my life right now is the fence. We've got about 20 feet left to put up, hoping to get a chunk of it done tonight. I will fall all over myself with excitement if we manage to finally finish it this weekend. I guess this is 40 something.
Whoa!  That is a crazy story.  Such a sad and terrible thing to have happen to everyone.  I realize he's not the greatest guy but, for your friend's sake, I wish him luck to avoid jail.

My H was tangentially involved in a horrifying car accident, when he was with his ex-wife.  Her father...who they'd begged with a million times to stop driving because he couldn't do it safely anymore...had gotten onto the freeway going in the wrong direction.  He was in a head-on, high speed collision.  He died and so did 4 out of the 5 people in the other car.

He'd worked hard his whole life and had a sizable estate.  And not one-cent went to his daughter.  It went to his victims.  Because he was too stubborn to admit he had no business being behind the wheel.

The FIL lived alone and my H told me the house was almost immediately locked down.  His ex was only allowed to take personal papers from it.  They needed to make appointments to do that.

  • That's horrible! I worry so much about eventually having to take the keys from my dad. Not because I care about his estate, but because I know what it would do to him if he were to seriously injure or kill someone. But he's super stubborn and difficult. I really wish we had better laws around re-testing adult drivers, especially as they age. My grandma is nearly blind, but she has no problem renewing her license. (She doesn't drive, it's just easier to renew than go get a non-DL ID.)

I'm on the fence about friend's dad. If he was drinking or doing something really reckless, then I don't think jail is terrible. I don't think he'd be facing jail time for just regular driving mistakes.
  • @kerbohl The office told me about a week, but the paperwork they sent me with the test said 2.  I'm hoping it's faster than 2 weeks. I'm basically walking around half asleep all the time and my energy has absolutely bottomed out.  This has been going on for 4 months now.

Two weeks is way too long!  I hope that it is only one as well.
