Aren't Fridays supposed to be good days, lol?
It has just been bad news bears for me! We have a termite contract. With it, they do annual spraying and check the house.
They came out yesterday and found active termites in an area around the front of the house
. We need to get our house tented to treat it. But because we are under a contract with them, it will "only" be $3K. Which is cheap to get your house tented. But it's still 3 grand! So bummed. I guess it's too hot at this time of year for tenting, plus there are other people waiting in front of us, so they can't do it until January. We will need to be out of the house for 3 days. So I guess we'll plan a trip, lol. Either that or I might be able to get free/cheap rooms at the Harrah's hotel. Of course, we'll also need to bring both beasts with us, so that might limit our options.
And the fun doesn't stop. I was driving into work this morning, when someone side-swiped me and fled the scene! WTF?!?! Why is this my life right now! But I saw them pull into the Superdome parking garage. I called the police. Waited for one hour and no one showed up. I called the non-emergency line and waited for a status. The dispatcher said it was pending, but had no way to no what time they would come. But she told me I didn't need to wait at the scene. I could leave and call back and the police would meet me wherever I was. Friday is my half day, so I'm going to wait until I get home this afternoon. But I do need to make up the 90 minutes I was late.
For my little bit of good news on that. I couldn't get the license plate as he was fleeing, because he made a right turn. But I found his car in the parking garage! I knew it was a light silver SUV and was pretty sure it was a Nissan Rogue or something shaped like that. I FOUND IT!!! Like a needle in a haystack, but I did it. White scrapes from my truck and a dent on the driver's side front bumper. F**k you, AH. I got you.
I was in a hit and run years ago. That time, I was able to get the license plate. I remember my insurance was able to get me recompensed with that info. Hopefully, I will have the same result.
Fortunately, my truck is driving just fine. It just has a long, wide and big scrape on it now. It's fully paid off, so I'd rather just collect the money. I'm certainly not glad it happened. But I'd expect it will be an expensive repair, so that would be pretty sweet if I can collect $1K-$2K.
