Help! I'm trying to plan a wedding by September 26th and can't find reception locaiton

Hello!I'm new to The Knot, but after 5 minutes on here, I feel like you ladies are the perfect resource b/c you know so much (and what I'm going through!) :)I am trying to stay within a budget, but still want to have a fun, beautiful wedding.  I am looking for a reception venue that is not expensive, where you can bring in your own food and drink.  The Heights Firehouse was perfect, but of course it's rented for the rest of the year.  I think we will have around 100 guests.Any ideas? Thanks so much!!!!

I looked for venues that allowed you to bring in your own food and drink -- the least expensive one we found was an art gallery called Bering & James. I think it's about $1200 for the rental, but you've got to bring in your own tables and linens in addition to the food.Another creative alternative is St. Arnold's Brewing Company (www.saintarnold.com) -- it's a brewery, complete with wooden tables and benches for tons of seating AND the cost (which varies by the day/time you have your event, I think) includes unlimited beer. You can bring in your own food, but they won't let you bring in other liquor, unfortunately.A third alternative -- and this is where I'm doing my rehearsal dinner -- is the Beck's Prime at Memorial Park. You can't bring in your own food (though you can bring in your own desserts and fruit tray), but there's no rental fee and there is only a $900 food minimum, and meals start at just $12/person. They're really flexible and can accomodate you to include things that aren't on the catering menu. You don't even have to sign a contract or give them a deposit. They do events all the time, and it overlooks the Memorial Park golf course, which is beautiful. They can hold up to 200 people, I think. Good luck!

There is a venue in Galveston called Bienville Social which allows you to bring in your own food and drink but you have to hire a licensed bartender. They have tables and chairs available as well. The website is www.bienvillesocial.com and sounds like the perfect place for your event.
