Wedding Woes

It’s Bills Day!!

Happy opening day football fans! The city is so excited today and the game is in LA. Baby M had Bills Day at school and all the kids have tiny Bills gear on. I love it. I know football is super problematic but I love it

Re: It’s Bills Day!!

  • Awww that’s gotta be so cute @charlotte989875

When I was up North we ate farmer sausage for dinner one day. I loved it. It wasn’t to salty like most sausage is, even though it’s basically pork, ham and bacon…. Canadians call it farmer sausage or mennonite sausage.  I want to find the American equivalent.  My friend from Pennsylvania says she calls it scrapple.  Anyone know it by another name? Can I find this in the Midwest somewhere? Obviously I’m not going to try to make this.  Lol.

Also, I got blood work done Tuesday Aug 30th and ever since then I’ve been doing a free for all, “eat what you want for vacation”. I weighed myself today. I’m only up .6 pounds in that week. I even did it twice over 3 different times this morning and one was up .4 lbs, two were the .6 lb gain.  Like, whaaaa? How does this teach me a lesson? I ate like CRAP! Lol

  • Hoping for a VERY short waiting period on that @ei34.  Good luck! And I live in Chicago where you’d think everyone would be Bears fans - but there’s a few Green Bay fans walkng around.  Ew! (Just kidding, just playing into that rivalry.  I have no idea what it’s about)

  • Yesterday BK was less "over tired chaotic" last night. She was still tired, but not as bad as Tuesday night lol
I think her being overtired is also affecting how she sleeps. She's been waking up middle of the night upset over something - not nightmares, just upset.
This week is hard for her :(

We had a solid chat about the smurf she brought home from school 2 days in a row. We told her she has to keep it at school. That's it's home.

BK also doesn't eat much at school. I think it's because everything is new and if they're saying it's outside time after lunch, she'll ignore lunch and just go get ready for outside.
    *sigh*
  • Yay @ei34!! Congratulations on the end being in sight!

We have a hockey team and the feeling is similar- although I think that with the much longer hockey season it’s not the same level of excitement.
  • YAY @ei34!  That's so exciting.

I'm here.  I had to squeeze in a workout between meetings.   I'm trying to get back on that train.  Work has a gym, so I'm making an effort to bring my workout stuff and go right after work for at least a half hour-45 min.

I will try and post Prudie real quick here before my next meeting.  My team has been needy today.  Ha.
  • @ei34 I'm so happy for you! I know this has been a super long road.

So ready for this week to be over. WFH tomorrow (as is my new schedule!) and we're going to see Pearl Jam on Sunday.
  • This weekend is shaping up to be NUTS.

Friday I have to ferry Chiquita back and forth for soccer, a shower and to camp with Girl Scouts.  Saturday Chiquito has his first soccer game and for the rest of the day I'll plan to hang with Chiquita at her campout.  Sunday I have to scoop her up at the crack of dawn, get her home to shower, go to church and then after mass drive an hour to DH's aunts for a bridal shower.

If DH so much as asks me what I'm making for dinner on Sunday I'm taking myself to the casino for steak.
  • @ei34, congrats!  The end is finally near.

NOLA isn't even a very big city, but the next closest football teams are Houston and Atlanta, ie not very close, so there are rabid fans for the Saints in the whole state of Louisiana and Mississippi.

@banana468, mmmm...steak!  I actually had a carry-out mystery shop at a chain restaurant yesterday.  They are known for steak and I got myself a rib-eye.  I hadn't had steak in awhile, so that was a real treat.

My morning started out as a MESS!  I don't know if my alarm didn't go off or if I shut it off in my sleep, but I woke up 90 minutes late.  My normal start time is 7am, so I usually miss rush hour morning traffic.  But leaving at 8am was an ugly reminder of just how bad morning traffic is.  I thought I'd still be okay, since schools had already started and the average office person would also already be at work. But no. As soon as I hit the road, I saw I was very mistaken on that, lol.

Then my phone needed a reboot update.  Of course, my car insurance calls while I'm doing that.  It's been TWO WEEKS since I sent them all the photos from the accident, including the hit and run guy's license plate and the pictures of the corresponding damage to his car.

It was my adjuster's supervisor who claimed that my adjuster has been trying to call me to take my recorded statement.  So it is very important that I answer her calls.

Me:  "Of course.  I am also anxious to get this resolved, but what you have told me is very puzzling.  She left me a message about two weeks ago.  I also exchanged some text messages with her, also about two weeks ago.  I submitted all the photos on your app exactly two weeks ago (on Thursday).  But the only phone call I've received from anyone from Progressive since then is yours, this morning.  Perhaps there is something wrong with whatever phone system you all use for calls and it doesn't jive with my phone."  Unsaid:  Or maybe your adjuster is a liar and making s**t up, so it looks like she is on top of her claims..

So the supervisor and I made an appointment that the adjuster was going to call me at 12:15 today.  It's now 12:40 and nope.  Pretty much what I expected, smh.

  • Weird question, does much info come to the states about the Queen?

I'm sure you've all seen about her passing but did you have info earlier about family being rushed to her?

Jeez ... first PM she met was Churchill

Yes, it's national news here.  Her decline and the family rushing to her has been the header on major news networks all day.
  • Yup, definitely was on the the news first thing here about her health being a major concern and that Charles and William were with her.

You're the first person I heard it from, lol.  But I don't have any news alerts set on my phone and only go out on the general internet a couple times a day.  I did see a headline this morning about her medical problems, but that must have been before she had passed.

I think major events with the British royal family is always massive worldwide news.

I hate every time there is a wedding because it hogs the headlines for weeks, even in the US.

Now you know how the rest of the world feels whenever something happens in the US. It is headline news and people are so tired of it, like the US is not the center of the universe.
