Classic: WTF??

I discovered this weekend that my husband belongs to a website for people whose spouses or partners cheated on them. He posts there frequently, and he’s talked about our children, our financial struggles, and my infidelity with my boss. The thing is: I’ve never cheated on my husband. It’d be one thing if he’d created a fictional persona for this website. It’d still be misleading and a cause for concern, but the things he writes about our marriage are lies.

I'm wondering how anonymous this website is.  When someone gives a lot of details like that, you never know what could happen.  Someone in their real life might recognize them.  Or someone more insidious could potentially figure out who they are to cause trouble.  Weirder things have happened.

But mainly, the LW needs to talk to their H about why he does this.  What is his motivation.  And put perimeters on things they are not comfortable being discussed, online.

WTF is right.  Sounds like H was looking for people to connect with and found this group? But it’s awful to even the people he’s confessing too because they’re probably giving him support too.  

Find a hobby and a message board for that, H. 

Edit; I’m also going to play devils advocate here.. what if H really thinks LW IS cheating, and trying to find condolence. Then this turns into a communication issue between them.

This is kinda what I'm thinking.

LW needs to call out spouse for knowing they're on the site, and lying.

Or...to be even more sinister...maybe he's looking to cheat himself.  And thinks a group like this might be a target rich environment.  Vulnerable people and some of them in newly ended relationships.
