Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions

Our wedding is planned for November 2023, but my dad's health is failing....

I am getting married in Estes Park in November 2023, and our save-the-dates have already gone out to 175+ people. Unfortunately, my dad's health has been declining rapidly over the past couple of months, and after a discussion with my sisters and my fiance, we are looking at having a small ceremony with just our immediate families, and then still having our larger ceremony we have booked in November.
My fiance is ok with this, for the most part - he has never been married, and I am divorced, and he would really like to have our ceremony in November to be when we officially become mr & mrs - I feel that we should make it official at the smaller ceremony since we don't know how long my dad (or even my mom at this point) may have. We are still discussing it, but I'm curious if/how anyone has encountered this and how you settled it.
TIA. JK

  • Hey Tia. JK,

I am so sorry to hear about your dad's declining health. That is never easy for anyone to deal with  I do not think it is a bad thing to do it before. It is really up to you and your partner. I think this is something the two of you should discuss to figure out what you think works best and then weigh the pros and cons of each option. I hope this helps!
