So I might still have Mario on my mind.  The movie was cute, if a bit long in the middle.

A spring cold has been making its way around the house and it's my turn today.  My throat is very scratchy but warm honey lemon water is helping.  We're having a mini heatwave today and tomorrow, with a high around 80 both days, so running a steam shower with the vicks open in the tub and relaxing under fleece blankets won't be my usual cold fixes.  But it passed through the kids quickly so I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow.  Hope everyone else is well.

It's going to be almost 90 degrees today, which is insane. I already have the AC in my office cranking because it's so hot already.

@ei34, I hope your cold gets better soon.  For once, it's warmer in your neck of the woods than in mine!  It was a bit chilly this morning, low 60s, and the high is only 69.  Then it is dropping into the high 50s tonight.  Unusual for April for temps to be that low.

Nothing much going on.  Work has been a little busier this week and I have a few things to do, but it is still a fairly mellow day.

I made a new salmon dish last night.  When we were in Branson last September, we stumbled across a spice store.  I'd never seen one before, but loved the concept.  I bought a Honey-Lemon spice meant for fish and finally used it last night.  I had also made a hollandaise sauce over the weekend and topped the salmon with that.  The dish came out so good and flavorful!  I felt like I was fine dining in my own living room, lol.

Still plugging away at my workload in this new software.  The office grump, who is also passive aggressive, posted a comment in our "team" section that is probably directed at me (or maybe some other people) and I'm trying not to let it get under my skin.  We all have learning curves and are not perfect...even you Mrs. Grump, so just stop.  Honestly, I'm trying to train myself to think, "It must be hard to be Grumpy and so inflexible" and just move on.

I keep thinking, "I'm so ready for the weekend", but I'm already coming in on Saturday, so it's not much of a weekend.  But I am planning a trip to see the Chihuly exhibit at the MO Botanical Garden, hopefully in early June before it's scorching.  I'll probably go up more than once, TBH, I love the outdoor exhibits more than anything.  Then some floating trips already in the mix...hopefully it's finally a good summer.

Other than that, SSDD.

It's so nice today.  I already did a 1.5+ mile walk and I've also had a meeting canceled.  Good morning so far.  

I have training this afternoon, finally.  Other than that SSDD.  Prudie coming up.

@climbingsingle it's gonna be hot a.f here too! Last week we had an ice storm, this week it's like summer.
I joke with M that if we all get the flu, this is why.

BK has been so tired lately. I thought she was tired last weekend because allergies and just whirlwind stuff but now I'm unsure.
Maybe change of seasons affecting her? Or just all the extra fresh air?

She was excited to wear her shirt dress with just capri leggings today. It's suppose to be hot, but this morning is chilly so I'm hoping she's okay  

On top of that, BK has to go to the dentist tonight.
She has an off kilter tooth to the right of her 2 main top-front teeth. Last week she said it was sore, so we flossed {thinking it was something stuck} and there was nothing but she didn't say anything.
Last 2 days, she's saying it again - it's not hurting to need meds, or affecting her eating, but it is off kilter so we wonder if she's about to lose it and because of area the next tooth is pressing?

M is taking her at 4pm. I have anxiety for her. I'm awful with dentist and I think they may have to xray

It wasn't a chain.  It was a small business.  The owner is the one who helped us.  Great guy!  You could tell he was really passionate and knowledgeable about what he did.

@MissKittyDanger, I cooked the salmon in a pan and used a little butter as the oil.

We took the kids to see it on Tuesday and thought it was so cute!  I had concerns about Chris Pratt as the voice but I think they were entirely unfounded after watching it.  It was handled nicely.

DH started physical therapy on Tuesday - it wiped him out.  We have exercises to do at home and will go back 1 or 2x a week for the next month.  Probably longer. 

I'm training someone new at work and she's just got a lot of personal stuff going on right now.  I feel badly for her.  Sick kiddo, grandma just passed, stressed about learning the new job.  She's pretty overwhelmed.  Hope things settle down for her soon and she starts feeling comfortable in her new position.

We hosted Easter and it went well.  There was the usual family shenanigan's from my youngest brother but it was expected.  We've been enjoying leftovers all week.  I'll need to cook tonight and am planning to grill burgers. 

The weather has been so warm this week.  We hit 88 yesterday and over 80 today.  We don't have the AC uncovered and working yet.  Opened all the windows early in the morning and gathered all the cool air, then shut everything up and closed the binds in the heat of the day.  Worked pretty well.  My allergies are OK yet but will be ramping up soon (trees) and no windows will be open then.

Looking forward to the weekend.  Saturday we have a family birthday dinner for a niece in the afternoon.  Sunday will be church and then doing dinner with some friends. 

Hoping to go see "Are you there God.." as this was such a major book for my age group growing up.

My FIL passed away early Thursday morning. Not totally unexpected considering he was 99 but the suddenness of it took us aback. We are so glad we were down there and he got to meet his great grandsons. Yesterday I was doing errands to get ready to go to Chicago today (Friday) for the youngest GS's bday and H's bday. Poor H, his birthday will always be a reminder of the anniversary of his dad's death. We will be coming home from Chicago a day earlier than planned so that we can go to VA for the funeral. DD will be able to come but SIL and grands will stay at home. Too expensive and complicated for everyone to fly especially after just having been there. Both our sons are driving down. H was busy yesterday finishing taxes, writing the obituary and calling family.

@ILOVEBeachMusic, I'm sorry to hear about your FIL.  "Hugs" for you all.  But what a blessing he was able to meet his great grandchildren before he passed.
