At work today, but super excited about my 4-day weekend.  No plans, though we'll probably BBQ and do some batch cooking at some point.

I hope you all have extra time off also and a great weekend.

So excited for the long weekend! And we get to leave at 2 today. 

I'm getting a massage tomorrow morning, but no real plans aside from that. N is coming home tomorrow afternoon. Hoping for some good weather!

I still have to work Monday.  Nothing should be going on, but why use a stupid PTO day on a day when I wouldn’t be busy anyway?

I accidentally logged off my computer instead of a reboot and I’m working from home. Our systems are archaic and we have to have the computer on to remote in.  I wanted to drive in to turn it on. Instead of using the parking lot and driving up 5 levels for a 1 minute trip, I parked in the visitor lot outside.

While leaving, there’s this stupid lip in the sidewalk where it ends and the parking lot starts. My sandal got stuck in that lip and I fell, crashing to my knees. So my knees, toes and hands are all scraped up.  I’m embarrassed but also - WHO IN THE WORLD thought that was the way to finish the sidewalk?!?

And being diabetic, it takes me longer to heal 😞

@CharmedPam, yeah, I had to take a vacation day for the Monday.  But totally worth it for me, especially because I can't WFH anyway.

Sorry to hear about your fall!  So frustrating.  I hope it's at least not causing too much pain.

Chiquita is on full liquids!  

Had a long talk, lots of tears and a frustrated feeling night.  She's making so many strides but she opened up about how long she felt sick and the poor kid kept things hidden for so long.   I feel terrible that she felt so terrible but we're here.   

I promised her that if she wasn't comfortable talking to the doctors I'd do it for her.  And she basically said she powered through the colitis while eating and really wants food back.   Obviously they aren't going to permit foods that hurt her but because she's making progress she had veggie broth plus a couple crackers.  We'll see how her gut tolerates it.

Ugh I’m so sorry @CharmedPam. Here’s to a speedy uncomplicated recovery! 

Yesterday was rough. I ended up working 14 hours and got home after 10. Then it was back to work by 8. 😭 I’m about to ignore my own patient advice and go chug half an energy drink. 

Otherwise, SSDD. It’s going to be hot hot hot here tomorrow. We have a get together at our house  (technically not a BBQ because we’re not cooking) and there’s still so much to do. I have a million errands to run tomorrow before the event. I’m hoping FSIL B isn’t too extra tomorrow. But I guess if she is we’ll have something to talk about later lol. 

For some reason having the 4th of July on a Tuesday feels odd. I don’t know if that’s just me or if anyone else feels the same.

Not sure America is something I want to be celebrating today with the SCOTUS decisions yesterday and today. I know we knew this was exactly what was going to happen but it sucks. No student debt relief, religious freedom to discriminate protected classes, and no affirmation action which has been one of the biggest successes in diversifying colleges and universities. 

I also took Monday off. The air is terrible here and the new contractor made some mistakes that now I feel bad insisting we correct. Long long day.

No I HATE that it falls on a Tuesday. Even Wednesday is better! Lol. Next year we’re in the same position when it’s on a Thursday.  Like… just give us Friday off too! No one’s going to be working it!!!

And H tore his bicep. Waiting to see if it’s full or partial and if he’ll need surgery. Effing awesome.

@banana468, I hope the broth and crackers go well, so they can start adding in solid food sooner than later.  Being on a liquid diet sounds awful.  Even if you're getting enough calories and nutrition, your stomach is empty so you feel hungry.

Continued good wishes for her.  I'm glad she finally spoke up and is getting the help she needs.

I sort of had the opposite problem when my T1 was undiagnosed.  I didn't feel hunger pangs because my stomach was full.  But my body was actually starving because very few of the calories I was eating were getting into my system.

Yay Friday! Not a long weekend for me either. I have to work Tuesday, so there was no point in taking Monday off. I hate month end close so much. 

But it should be a good weekend here! We're going to a baseball game tomorrow and soccer game Sunday. It's supposed to be like 96 and humid all weekend, so hopefully our baseball seats are in the AC. (We won seats in a fancy box, so I think they are.)

No!  That's so awful, I'm sorry you all are going through that.  Sending so many good vibes it's just a partial and no surgery is needed.

I was going to take Monday, then decided against it, now I'm like maybe I should, and basically my executive functioning seems to have completely taken today off.  I've always had a complicated relationship with the Fourth of July stuffs, so I stepped out of celebrating it long ago.  I don't mind the day off though.

Boo to everyone's medical stuff, I'm sorry and vibes for smooth, easy, painless healing.

Tomorrow I'm finally seeing Spiderman. It's the big theatre, there aren't a lot of presold seats and it's early.  Sunday I'm seeing Astroid Theatre for the same reasons and then I'll go chill with Mom for a bit.  My allergy shot this morning is kicking my butt around...scratchy/itchy skin, throat, ears, and eyes.  STILL better than what my regular life is during allergy season, so I'll take it.  No other big plans

OMG @charlotte989875!  That sounds so painful for your H.  Does he know how he did it?

Y'all fucccckkk the Supreme Court.  I knew they were giving out bandaid rulings last week.  They brought the hammer down yesterday and today and now get to go off and hang out with their billionaire donors.  It's an ugly and cruel time in US history.  

It's supposed to rain all weekend.  I'm going to Bonnie Raitt with my dad and sisters tomorrow.  IDK about Sunday.  We wanted to go boating, but womp, womp.  I work Monday, blah.  I'm sure we'll go buy shit to blow up for Tuesday at some point.

I can't even with the Supreme Court! Every time I turned on the news yesterday, I was like WTF.

H is in Virginia until at least Monday maybe Tuesday so no plans for the holiday weekend. I have altar guild duty this weekend so will be setting up today and cleaning up tomorrow after service. 

I've been binging Outlander but really need to do some things around the house. I have no motivation though. I have been getting stuff together for our vacation. I have piles in my living room.

 H is bringing a big piece of furniture back from his Dad's place. It is a secretary that meant a lot to his mom. She said (before she passed) we are the only ones (of the 5 kids) who have a house with space for it. It is a nice piece but we really don't have the space. We have a lot of windows so limited wall space. I need to figure out where it will go before he gets home.

I should be off today for Canada Day since it fell on a Saturday, but there was a training opportunity at work that was going to save me some headaches so I took it.  Better to have Tuesday off anyways because most Canadians were taking the Monday off.  I like to have different days off that everyone else ....

But I feel you all about having a Tuesday off and having to work the Monday.  It is odd.  I am going to slip out early today anyways.
