September Bay Area Wedding - hot?

Hi All,

I'm in a dilemma if I should do a Bay Area (San Jose, specifically) wedding on Sept 7 or not, but afraid that it could be too hot. We'd have the church ceremony inside during the day, american ceremony outside briefly and reception is indoors. Yes, I've checked past and future weather dates for Sept 7. For 2023 and 2024, it says it's about 82 to 84, but obviously, the weather can change. The Past weather dates for the following year on Sept 7 are below: (Definitely fluctuates)

Sept 2022 - 97

Sept 2021 - 88

Sept 2020 - 104

Sept 2019 - 72

Sept 2018 - 84

If I chose 9/21, there is another wedding for someone we know. We'd lose maybe <5 friends that can't attend.
October has a lot of family events happening and I was afraid 10/19 could have a chance of rain which is no fun.

  • I'm confused by the American ceremony outside. The church ceremony is legal in the US so you don't have to have another ceremony for it to be legal unless it is a cultural thing. I'd just not do the outside ceremony. That way you don't have to worry about the weather.
  • What is an "American Ceremony"??
  • What is an "American Ceremony"??
I took it to mean they are having a Catholic wedding inside the church (required by the church) and another ceremony because they really want an outside wedding. I could be wrong which is why I said unless it is a cultural thing.
