My little city is famous for it's summer theatre. It's run by a university, it's equity which is an excellent experience/opportunity for the students (especially the ones who are getting ready to graduate), and it brings in some fairly decent star power. My little city is also home to some of the biggest bigots in the nation, being the "buckle" of the Bible belt. The summer theatre is showing The Prom, which is a show about a lesbian student who wants to attend prom with her girlfriend. Prom is cancelled rather than allow this to happen. Our summer theatre would usually sell out just with season ticket holders if the theatre didn't purposefully hold back tickets for each show. Well, this seasons ticket holders this year refused to buy a season ticket and bought only for the first two shows (which weren't GAAYYYYOMGGAAYY). The community rallied around the show and it's now sold out by individuals buying tickets. I'm very proud of us, even if it means I have to go see damn outside summer theatre (though I have been told I'm under one of the big fans). It still pisses me off and I'm very concerned that this changes the shows the summer theatre picks.
Otherwise SSDD. I busted out a lot of work yesterday and I have plans for the next 2 days and I think vacation should be just fine. I sometimes forget that I'm damn efficient and have plans in place to deal with things, so I don't actually have as much to do as I thought, b/c I did a bunch of pre-work and things are flowing.
