Tuesday is Always a Turd

I'm in my feels today, badly.  I went to the the set up appointment yesterday and went through their first step testing, which is basically how they decide what tests you need.  The woman helping me was a Psych NP and very lovely.  Not only are they testing me for ADHD (and she said, you will absolutely come through with this dx), they are setting me up for OCD treatment.  She explained what non-traditional OCD was (very basically it's not just what you see on TV) and....well, to say I was stunned, am not dealing with any of it well, and at the same time have a mixture of relief/exhaustion from someone telling me WTF has been going on inside my head for my entire life, still doesn't even begin to explain all of my inner turmoil.

I'm seeing an interesting movie tonight.  It's called RRR and is an Indian Telugu-language movie.  The previews look incredibly interesting, very cool action scenes, and won a lot of awards.  I wasn't going to go, but then watched the preview and decided to give it a shot.  Otherwise, SSDD, just trying to grind through work.

  • That’s a whole lot to take in @VarunaTT. Hope you’re taking some time to just sit with it all!
  • We’re on day 5 of quarantine with M and it’s his birthday. It’s raining so we put on boots and jackets and stomped in puddles. H is working in the morning and taking the afternoon shift so I can work. I’m currently sitting in an indoor tent while M watches Daniel Tiger. It’s been a long few days!
  • Helloooo!  The last couple of weeks have been bonkers, at work and home.  I finally have my bathroom back!!  Wahoo!!  We (well, DH) painted it the prettiest shade of purple, so I need to find new bathroom successories to match it.

I hate middle school.  Nothing major, but school hasn't even been in session a week and I am fucking done with preteen children.  DefConn is not perfect or innocent, but goodness I want to put him in a bubble more than ever.

SIL came in last Weds and stayed through the weekend to be with BIL.  She and I planned it together and surprised BIL.  His reaction was priceless when I brought her home from the airport.  I love surprises, but I'm terrible with fun secrets, so I was so proud we pulled it off.  LOL

Is anyone watching Below Deck Down Under?  If so, did you watch last night?  I can't stop thinking about it today.

SSDD otherwise.  Learning to be WFH with DH, which we've never been in this position before.  It's going to be a learning curve.
  • @VarunaTT, I hope the testing and subsequent treatments work out for you.  It sounds promising, so far.

@mrsconn23, yay on the new bathroom!  I like purple.  Do you remember the specific brand/shade?

My H is finally starting to get stuff done around our house.  He's repaired and repainted two walls.  He also cleaned up/organized our bedroom a bunch and got rid of some of his clutter.  He also had two of my old clothing totes waiting for me when I got home, lol.  He very nicely said he would appreciate it if I would go through them that night, so I did.  Proud to say I only kept about 3 tops!  The rest went into the garbage or into a donation bag.

I also found a box with old bathroom stuff.  Do you all know if shelters take opened toiletries, like shampoo/body wash?  I have a bunch of that kind of stuff I need to get rid of.  The bottles are clean and full/mostly full.  They still have a good smell.

  • I don't think places will take opened anything @short+sassy. I would think it would be a liability issue.

We have company coming for the races this weekend. I don't go but need to be around to entertain after and before races. I've been getting the house ready for guests which entails cleaning our main floor and basement (where our guest room is). I have absolutely no interest in doing this!

I was hoping to go to a friend's lake house on Thursday to Friday but found out that our guests are coming Thursday. Big disappointment.

Ohhh please report back, I hear great things but found the opening scene too upsetting to persevere when I tried watching.

Dutch Boy Spring Tulip.  We got it at Menards (literally my favorite place because I'm in my mid-40's and they have everything, including snacks!  Plus, those 11% rebates...LOL).

@VarunaTT that's a lot to take in, glad you will have a better understanding but still a lot!
@charlotte989875 Happy 3rd birthday M! Sending continued healing vibes
@mrsconn23 yay for the new bathroom

Savoring the kids being fully recovered from their coxsackie- enjoyed a water park all day yesterday and just got in from a city day (a neat Harry Potter exhibit and Central Park).  Leaving for New Hampshire on Thursday morning and I definitely have some cleaning and packing to do.
